Local course that is very playable.
Other than the slow foursome on front of us, we enjoyed our round. The marshall could have been more helpful in making the group in front of us to stop taking multiple shots and just playing slow without regard to holding us up.
Average course for a nice low price
I think for the price for twilight the course was all around average. Pace of play was very slow because they space the tee times out very close. There was 3 groups to the hole on the first tee and that was not including the group walking off the tee. After speaking with the guys I played with and some others that we bumped into on the tee boxes and along the course just waiting to hit, it doesnt suprise me that this course is known for being on that you can expect to be hit by a golf ball at. With all that being said, after player here 5 or so times I will be sure to play more during the day as my rounds then were much more enjoyable even when they were slow and dragging out. I think the club could gain much more attraction if they work on the pace of play and take a bit bettere care of the course.
Not worth the money
Some friends said the remodel had completely changed this place, but I didn't see it. The design is still cramped and contrived. It's in a flood plain so there was mud or standing water even though it hadn't rained in 24 hours. The greens were so sandy that you had to wash your ball between holes. On a weekday morning I could see paying $25-30 with a cart, but we paid $42 and felt ripped off.
Great course!
I liked the course layout and the grounds were kept beautifully. Friendly staff and a great experience.
Nothing but Rough
Had to actively search for the ball in the fairways due to the grass being taller than the ball on every holes fairway… driver face is green because the back tee boxes were poor, course needs to be tightened up all around
Great local course.
Played here Memorial day in the afternoon. Course was in great shape. Greens rolled pure. Fairways were nice. Staff is always very friendly. Only bad thing was pace of play was horrible. Every single group was hitting from the tips and not even making it to the fairway most times. That being said we just joined the group of younger guys behind us and enjoyed their company and the rest of the round. So although it was slow it was still very enjoyable. Will definitely play here again.
Not great.. not the worst
The pace of play was atrocious, and multiple groups somehow appeared in front of us throughout the round. We’d come around a corner to the next tee box, and bam—there’d be a new group in the fairway that hadn’t been there before. I partially blame this on the course layout and perhaps the advanced age of most of the other players.
The fairways were the same length as the rough on the majority of holes, and we had several shots piped right down the center just vanish. This may also be due to the aforementioned players picking up balls that weren’t theirs—it happened to us at least three times that we actually witnessed.
This brings me to my next gripe: etiquette. Aside from the issues already mentioned, apparently no one playing that day knew how to repair a ball mark. Some of the greens were more akin to a World War I battlefield than a putting green.
Overall, not a great experience, but not terrible either. If it was half the price I feel like it would be considered a “Great” deal.
