Shore Gate Golf Club

I have a house in Sea Isle and play here about once a year.

This is the last time I willingly play here in season. The course was full of beginners, including the two people I was matched up with. They had trouble getting the ball airborne.

The slope is 140 from the white tees. NOT a course for beginners.

The layout is very pretty and challenging for an intermediate golfer. We've played this course a few times, and we've always had a good time.

The conditions this time were the worst I've seen yet. The tee boxes were very beat up. There was water in the bunkers. Some wet spots in the fairways and rough.

That said, the hole placement on the fast greens was crazy and for a terrible putter like me, it was a difficult experience.

Excellent layout and a few challenging holes. Lots of traps make it challenging. The up keep of the course is handled very well. Love this course.

Played the course on a hot summer day, so we felt like we had it to ourselves. Despite the heat wave, it was in good condition. Always a fun course to play. Tough, but fair.

We used to play Shore Gate every year when we went to Stone Harbor. Stopped about 10 years ago, and didn't go back because I heard the course condition had gone downhill. Went back this year and was pleasantly surprised. Fairways/tees/greens all in great condition. Still a tough course with plenty of sand. Only complaint I have is the back 9 was very slow, and there was no marshal anywhere to be found.

If you like it challenging, Shore Gate is the course you want to play. From the massive bunkers, many water hazards and hard fast greens your game will be tested to the max. The staff is great and the practice facilities are excellent. There are many memorable holes and the whole experience is top notch.

Course in great condition

Shore Gate is one of the best public courses I have played in the tri state area. The staff upon arrival was welcoming and professional. The practice facilities are top notch with a grass range, bunker area and large putting green. The course itself is a true pleasure to play and is definitely a players course. Need to be accurate with each shot to avoid the many bunkers. Even if you do find yourself in a bunker, they are perfectly groomed and easy to come out of. The condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens are that of a championship caliber course. Greens rolled true and were the perfect speed. They had a nice shack at the turn with a good choice of food and beverages. Do yourself a favor and play this gem of a course.

did not use course hole overview before going. need to know target and distance on every shot. not a course to just hit and hope.

Enjoy! This course tough and challenging. Though it’s a beauty too! So it does make you want to come back. Got a great deal on GN , which my husband and I appreciate. Great value for the money on GN. Would recommend playing here.
