Nestled within the Colorado Rockies, Grand Elk Golf Club in Granby, Colo. offers stunning mountain views from every hole. The course has a links-layout inspired by the inland golf courses of the British Isles. The low-lying vegetation and gently rolling terrain lend a heathland feel to the course. The fairways are wide and undulating and the large greens have ample contours as well. The layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that are straightforward and others that twist into tricky doglegs, but nearly all are flanked with sod-faced bunkers. There are more than 60 bunkers coming into play throughout Grand Elk Golf Club, and water hazards come into play on four holes. Besides just being a fun and challenging round, the magnificent views that stretch across the snow-capped peaks of the Continental Divide are not to be missed.

Like the course & staff!!!
Not completely fair to review in such a dry summer as the fairways were extremely dry so CPO - but that's not their fault - it's the same with all the nearby courses. They have managed to keep the greens (other than one that was rough) which is most important. The course layout is fun - a couple querky holes with blind shots - but I would recommend playing. The staff does a great job making you feel welcome, prompt service in the parking lot and an excellent (albeit dry!) driving range. Here's to hoping the area gets some rain soon!!!
Grand Elk
Very good layout, a few blind tee shots that are tough for a first timer. Colorado is in drought so course was dry but greens are in terrific shape and putt true.
Course with many blind shots.
Due to dry conditions this year, it was cart path only. Many holes with tricky shots. Expect to lose golf balls to the native grasses and bushes.
Stunning view, helped me feel better about my poor play!
I booked this to get a round in with my son while I was here! They are gracious & helpful to visitors.
Course was just a little wet due to rain. Challenging sure with great variety!
Summer golf in Grand County
Grand Elk is a great layout and is in top condition. We played in about 4 hours and had a blast
great experience
from cart caddies , to the great condition of course, and free range balls and free ice chest with water this was an experience to remember
Beautiful
Nice to play on a ‘traditional’ course in the mountains. Had a great time, although bring an extra sleeve of balls. They are easily lost in the tall ‘near fairway’ grass.
Lots of blind shots
In general it was a good course. The challenges were in the blind shots and the tall landscape areas that ran between the tee boxes and the fairways. Bring a lot of extra balls. If it goes in the tall stuff you will not find it. The course was in good condition. Tee times were easy to get and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Rain free round
Prairie dog central. Lost a couple of golf ball down critter holes.
I played the course better than the last time a couple years ago. Didn’t lose as many balls in the native grasses as before. Learned the importance of finding the fareways.
