Ocean View Golf Club
About
Located just seven minutes from downtown Hamilton, off the North Shore of Devonshire, Ocean View Golf Club is easily the closest golf course to Bermuda's capital city. The blue Atlantic waters and gentle ocean breezes offer scenic views and create a tranquil atmosphere, but do not underestimate this nine-hole course as it offers a fair amount of challenge. Club selection is crucial due to the elevation changes of the terrain and the occasional strong winds. Although it is an executive length course, there are 18 tee positions to enable play on a second round of holes. Ocean View Golf Club has garnered a following among locals, which in turn has also made it a popular destination for visitors.

Ocean View Review
Great course for the value in Bermuda. Being able to do 9 holes was nice, as we had limited time to play as we had a lot planned in a short time, as we were on a cruise. The views from the holes were spectacular and the best feature in my mind. The staff was awesome, they were very accommodating.
A good value.
Only a 9 hole course but the price is right for Bermuda-$50 for 18 holes with cart. Most of the others in Bermuda are $200 plus. The course is in good shape. Balls hold on the green but the speed is on the slow side. The bunkers are in need for more sand. Cab ride is about $100 round trip from cruise ship. Worth it to get your fix in good time.
Loved Oceanview Golf course in Bermuda
My son and I only had time to play 9 holes, really enjoyed the course, beautiful ocean view on hole #1. Staff was great. Easy to get to by ferry and cab.
Pretty course. Shame about the greens.
The course itself is extremely pretty and a great pleasure to play. Sadly, the greens were close to 'winter greens' quality. Lumpy and thick grass on the greens ruined the experience. With a small investment this course could be up to the standard that we should expect in Bermuda. It has the potential to be much much better.
good value for the money and challenging
i found the course challenging with a LOT of blind shots to fairways and greens both! i arrived early for my tee time and was told i could start right away if i didn't mind playing by myself. i took the offer and the round took approx 2hr 45min NICE!! i was back at the ship in no time! the only problem was i wasn't told ahead of time the greens had been aerated 2 days before and they were exactly what you would expect terrible.
great views
the course we played was great, it has great views some holes had good difficult play and 2 lenghty par 5s one was 500+ everybody plays other courses when they get to the island but for the money its the best kept secret, not crowded and close to town so you can enjoy a meal afterwards, would play that course again, when I visit the island, thanks golf now for helping me book my Tee Time Aggie
Ocean View in better condition now
Update on last review - I am pleased to report the greens are in far better shape now we are approaching the summer. They are harder and faster and cut low, with no noticeable moss patches. Well done to the ground staff. Staff in pro shop excellent too, as I had to delay my tee time on the day and they were most accommodating. Oh, and I went round in par on the second loop of 9 holes to complete a perfect afternoon. At $45 for 18 holes which you can play in less then 3.5 hours it is the best value golf in Bermuda and well worth adding to a trip itinerary, maybe as your first course to ease into your golf on the easiest track on the island.
Great course, super friendly staff. Highly recommend playing this course when visiting Bermuda.
We had an awesome time! The views are gorgeous! What made our experience so pleasurable was the staff. They were awesome! The weather was perfect and the course conditions were great. On a side note, I left my ipod in the golf cart. I didn't realize it until later that day when we were almost back on the ship. We went back to the course that same day all the way there thinking it was gone. When we got to the course and explained I forget it in golf cart, the staff on duty that day couldn't have been more helpful about locating my ipod. One of the staff went out on the course to search each golf cart and thankfully he found it! I cannot tell you how appreciative I was for all his efforts. It's those random acts of kindness that you will never forget.
Interesting to play 18 on 9 holes.
Interesting to play 18 on 9 holes and being able to reface challenges from a slightly different perspective.
Bermuda's easiest course, ideal for novices, but needs a bit of attention
Well, it is hard to have a bad round of golf on a lovely sunny spring afternoon in Bermuda. Virtually every course here has stunning views out to the ocean and Ocean View is as good as its name implies. The fact it was Easter Sunday meant the course was not busy and a swift 18 holes was ideal for me, playing on my own as I was. Ocean View is a 9 hole course, but they have two sets of tees for men to use, so the second 9 is longer (in particular, two of the par 3s are about 50 yards longer, with one actually coming in at a different angle too - you cross the road to hit back over it), although both the par 5s are reachable in two for bigger hitters. Nevertheless, you are still essentially playing the same holes. It is still a pleasant enough lay out, with some elevation changes and dog legs, and a very good track for novices and high handicappers, given it is not as brutal on your scorecard as some other courses over here. I would say it is worth a look in between playing the bigger more expensive names on a Bermuda golf trip. Especially with GolfNow prices from $45, it is a bit of a bargain by Bermuda standards.
Now for the downside - it needs some work. The greens are slow and in places bumpy, and on the 8th patched with moss (for some reason they had stuck the flag right in the middle of a particularly bad patch when I played). There is no course planner/shot saver card - coupled with some of the hole images by the tee needing to be repainted and some of the yardage markers at the side of the fairways missing, it makes for a guessing game for yardages that few other courses these days require. It is a government course, as is Port Royal, but you are left with the feeling that this is very much the poor relation. This is a shame as, for the reasons mentioned above, it is otherwise not to be discounted when golfing in Bermuda. It is to be hoped these issues are addressed in the near future.
This is not an 18 hole course
I played 4 courses in my week in Bermuda and this was the least impressive of the 4 although it was definitely the cheapest of the 4 so I would say it was still value for money. I thought it was an 18 hole course when I booked only to find out after 9 that it was not. I was disappointed in the condition of the greens, some had barely no grass on them at all. The best views on this course are from the club house patio.
