Opened in 1925, Discovery Bay Golf Club, formerly known as Chevy Chase Port Townsend Golf Course, has the distinction of being the oldest public golf course in Washington. Besides its long history, it has also garnered acclaim as one of the best golf courses on the Olympic Peninsula. Situated on the shores of Discovery Bay, the layout enjoys panoramic mountain views spanning the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges. There is more to the course than scenery though. The classic design is challenging enough to appeal to low handicappers while still being accessible for beginners. The course's back nine is more challenging than the front, featuring challenging elevation changes and some tricky lies. Challenging historic course
You better be good with your driver and have some course knowledge! Greens are small, subtle and hard to read. Be aware of slope. A lot of elevation change and long par 4s.
The views can be nice. Usually quiet and you can get lost in your thoughts. Been playing here everytime I visit PT. Love this place! Staff are always friendly too! And you can bring your dog for a round, no extra charge!

One of the best kept secrets in the whole State of WA. This course is a special place! Put it on your bucket list.
Poor conditions vs price
Course is very wet. Looks like they couldn’t mow. Should not be charging full price for the condition of the course. Lost several balls in fairway and rough do to tall grass and mud. Summer time is around the corner and conditions will improve and then charge the normal price.
Great day @ the course
I have been there many times and it’s always a great place to golf.The young man in the clubhouse is very polite and helpful.It was a bit windy and the ground in some places were very soft.but overall it was another great day on the course.I would also like to thank Golfnow for the great deal

The greens are in great condition the fairways can use some work wonderful staff a great day with friends good scoring opportunities I’d recommend this course A+ for the price

Great Deal with a smile
We had a great day at the course. The lady at the clubhouse is always friendly and happy to help you out. The only complaint was the greens were punched not to long ago & I know it has to be done. Overall it was a beautiful day for golfing.Golfnow made it better!
