Not bad
Course was in good shape except the greens were not maintained. The greens were covered with dead worms making it terribly bad for putting. All they had to do was blow off the greens but evidently no effort was made. Also I bought a Hot deal and the price for the hot deal was $10 more than what the course was charging. This especially aggravating and I consider it false advertising on golf now!
Nice course with lots of water
Locust Hill GC is a nice course with elevation changes and no back and forth holes, LHGC is a very enjoyable layout that is walkable if you are fit.
Good value
Get out and play! Good driving range, friendly staff, good food, fair price on drinks!!! All good!!!!
Just alright, but likely better with improved weather
Range wasn't available due to late staff, nor were some other amenities available the morning I played. Course layout was ok, some back tracking and signage could've been more clear. I was in first group of the day and beer cans were in course trash cans from previous day. Grass maintenance was great I thought, but greens were kinda beat up from the flags within the holes tipping over and damaging green. I don't think the course is bad, probably an off day for the staff and wind, but do think there's some improvements they could make. I only felt it was a little expensive for my experience today, it's a fine course though, not great, not bad.
Great course
Locust Hill is not only an inexpensive course in the area, but for me it is very convenient. It is minutes away from my home. The course is usually in great shape, minus the few times a year we get enough rain to restrict the carts to cart path only. The beers are always cold and the coolers are ready. Highly recommend Locust.
Give this course a try
I play many courses throughout VA, MD and WV.and I was pleased with the wonderful shape the course is in for January. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.. The layout is challenging so pick your which tees you're playing, carefully. I can't wait to try the course again this Spring!!
It isn't just the season...Just not worth the price!
If anybody in the Leesburg, VA area remember Westpark before it closed, I would consider Locust Hill to be just like Westpark before it closed, heck even the hole markers were the exact same.
We played a few days before Christmas, and yes it was cold. But my son and I play courses in the area during Christmas every year and I take the weather into consideration, but this course was not in good shape, at least not in the shape I would expect for a $50/person Winter Rate greens fee. I could have played Rasberry Falls for that price had a 100% better experience. Course is rough, carts are awful.
Great course, Great staff, excellent layout, and great conditions.
Great Value
I'm a beginner with limited experience but enjoy this course best. It's challenging but not too intimating as I have much to learn. Good location, friendly staff, great value for money. Plan to return often.
Great value
Had a great time… staff very friendly…course in good shape
Lovely area to get away to
Great course
Course is in great shape. This is my home course and I am a full member. I play here a bunch and never get bored with this course. The course is challenging and IMO has the best back nine around. Many challenges and lots of water. I always hit the club bar after a round. They have lots of beers on tap and great bartenders. If you haven't played this course I highly recommend it.
Decent for a Local Course
Not worth the drive. Just Ok with everything. Don’t drive more than a few minutes.
Good Shape
The course is playing very well, greens are speedy but not over fast, rough is thick but cut low, fairways a full and ball sits nice on them. Get out and play before the temps change.
Locus Hill Kneisly Review
First time to Locus Hill but probably not my last. My wife and I found the course to be an exceptional good value and golfer friendly. the course was in very good condition and the weather perfect for a fall day. The course was in a very nice community that added to the atmosphere. The distance options given were perfect for seniors and women. The greens were fair. Challenge provided with hazards but not intimidating. Staff was good. I'd not hesitate to play Locus Hills again if in the area.
