Great Time
Had a great time playing this course. The whole staff but mainly the guy working the carts and the rangers were so friendly and welcoming!
Stay away
Abysmal pace and management. Expect to tee off nearly an hour later and wait multiple groups deep on the early holes. Seems like they’re squeezing this buddies on the course
This course is infested with mosquitos, had to pack up and leave in the middle of the 4th hole. Unless you’re looking for a miserable round of golf I would not recommend it. Absolute waste of a day off.
course was in good condition but could only play 9 holes because the mosquitoes were sooooo bad. unfortunately when i was leaving i asked them if i could get a credit to play 9 holes at another time but the gentlemen in the pro shop said since I booked through you( golf now) there was nothing the would do..... DISCRACE
Great NYC course
I've played all of the NYC courses and this was right up there in terms of quality. Very well kept, good length off the back tees, challenging layout and true greens. Played 2pm on a Saturday and finished in 4.5hrs. Bugs weren't bad at all until the sun started dropping on the closing holes. I found the staff real friendly, concessions fairly priced, ball washers on every tee. Not much to dislike about my first visit to Split Rock and def would go back.
Worst Golf Course in the Northeast
This was by far the worst round of golf I have ever played. To start, there were so many delays that we teed off almost 20 minutes late. Things only got worse from there. From the first hole, we were absolutely swarmed by mosquitos—any time we touched the grass, they attacked. I was literally eaten alive and came home with hundreds of bites on my arms, legs, and even through my shirt on my back. I can’t believe we had to pay ~$97 for this experience. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this course. DO NOT PLAY HERE.
Avoid at all cost
I have never seen so many mosquito in my entire life during my first visit there in the split rock course. We only played 9 out of the 18 holes and we all left since the condition was just unplayable to all sorts of bugs, which left us with countless bites in our faces, legs and arms. I would not recommend this course to any of my friends period.
Worst course in new york
I’m surprised the rating here isn’t just 1 stars. Terrible staff, no rangers keeping pace of play, bad layout, bad carts. Just played a 5.5 hour round and only got through 13 holes. Never coming back. Save your money.
Great Course
I don’t understand any of these reviews. What do people think is going to happen when they book a tee time at noon on a Saturday in NYC. Of course pace will be slow. Get out to this course on a Wednesday instead and it’s the best course in the city, easily. Beautiful grass extremely well kept. Tough layout provides a good challenge, still not too hard. I absolutely loved this spot and will be back.
Shambles
Played here a couple times, but I’m sick of it. They over book, course is in bad shape, everything’s over priced. Place sucks. Go somewhere else.
split rock
They overbook the course all the time. Most recently played and had to wait for 2 foursomes to tee off ahead of us on the second hole. Conditions weren’t terrible for it still being early in the season. Golf carts are terrible quality. They are charging way too much for this course. It is not worth the money
