Pine Ridge Golf Club
About
Pine Ridge Golf Club was carved from pine forests in central Long Island. Located in Coram, the course's player-friendly layout is a popular choice for all skill levels. The narrow, tree-lined fairways demand accuracy and the greens are fast and can be hard to read but it's not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The risk-reward opportunities will test your course management and strategic thinking skills. If played smartly, you could find yourself with a birdie, particularly on the two driveable par 4s on the front nine. Several bunkers lurk throughout and water comes into play occasionally as well. You'll also face several sharp doglegs, both left and right. In addition to the golf course, Pine Ridge also offers a practice facility that includes a driving range, putting green, and a large grass teeing area.

Fairway is all dirt. Divots. Greens terrible. Almost like they don’t have water.
Early Morning Magic
Got out around 6:42, and I was the only one on the course, and it was fantastic. The staff there were great, and offered advice on shot placement and challenges.
The groundskeepers were aerating, so I played the back 9 twice, which had been aerated the day before. The aeration wasn't a huge issue, but there were other course conditions that needed attention, like existing muddy runoff on walking paths and irrigation equipment hazards. The tee boxes were chopped up a bit, and there was lots of tee debris scattered for such an early part of the day. I only had to play a few shots where I needed to improve my lie because of aeration pockets or plugs.
The first time through, I set my own pace. I did slow down on the second pass, since other players had teed off.
I was frustrated at times that the mowers were out and cutting fairways and greens while playing through. At one point, a groundskeeper was present for about 7 holes in a row, on the green mowing while I was in play, waving me up and waiting for me to clear. It made reading the early morning greens difficult, and also provided a noisy distraction.
Overall, I loved the challenge of "amen corner," which the marshall appropriately nicknamed holes 11-14, for their long distances and challenging shot paths.
This course is fairly local for me, and I would play it again, especially as a practice round where I could take multiple shots, and work on my game in the expanse of an empty early morning course.
What a waste
I’ve played this course years back and although it was never a private club type environment it was never in bad shape.
This was beyond playable. It was like they are waiting to be bought out to extend the condos.
Crabgrass all over, greens were a mess. Mowing staff didn’t even give the courtesy of waiting for you to hit and what they were even mowing is beyond me.
I remember it being a decent course years back.
But it’s like they just gave up on caring.
I wouldn’t recommend this place even if we’re free.
It’s a shame they let it go.
Worst course on Long Island
This course absolutely blows. Cost $105 to play with course and was a absolute waste of money. Most of the greens look like this.
Excellent pace of play
Tee boxes need work. The course conditions were fair to good. The greens were in good shape but are scheduled to get air rated soon. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This course is awful
I’ve played this course before several years ago and it’s never been in the best condition but overall it was never awful. This time it was in awful condition, the greens were bare with mounds of dirt randomly all over them. The teeboxs were destroyed and the bunkers were solid sand, like concrete. Overall the course is in awful condition and isn’t nearly worth the 54 bucks + another 30 for a kart to play
Worst course on Long Island
This course is beyond saving. The greens were trashed the fairways were just weeds and the bunkers were just trashed. Not worth the money
Golf Never
Unfortunately we did not listen to other reviews.
Figured it would have been a nice course, if you didn’t hit the fairway you were in area that was horrendous!
No maintenance done at all.
Broken sprinkler heads flooding areas.
