Golfer Reviews
Kissena
Par 64, short, no par 5s, most of the 4s are short. Grass very high until you reach the fairway. I generally play this course when there is no room on other local courses
Rock Solid
Underrated and harder than the slope suggests. Great pace of play if you go on weekday afternoon or before 9am on the weekend. Strategy is key as the course is narrow and the second cut is thick. Learn to hit your long irons and fairway woods off the tee. Greens are somewhat slow but in good shape. Darren the chef is a good cook and all of the starters and front staff is are personable.
Course Conditions
Greens and fairways in decent condition
Traps are not maintained and it’s like hitting out of hard mud
Tee boxes are in horrible condition i, difficult to find a place to tee up
You are kind
The lawn was well maintained and was safe and clean.
Tight course on back 9 - PAY ATTENTION
Someone in my foursome got hit in the head with a shot while waiting in the 18th hole tee box. Incredibly dangerous and hard to see the other golfers shooting at you. Besides how tight the back 9 is, the course is overall solid, lots of elevation changes. No par 5s on this course so you can finish this in just under 4 hours. This is my home course and I will always go back. Course conditions yesterday were great for a public course compared to other nyc courses in the area.
