Golfer Reviews
Tight narrow fairways, small greens.
This makes it fairly tough, but also a fun challenge. Nice hills, too.
Excellent groundskeeping, very nice shape. A few wet spots due to rainy year.
Had a fun round of golf
Tad over priced
Shorter course, but challenging with narrow fairways. Weekend prices are a tad high for the quality of course. Would recommend for weekday pricing. Would go back!
Nice course, unfortunate flaws
This is a nice layout and was in decent shape. Some frustrating things: There is no marking to indicate where the pin is on the green - all flags the same color, no marker on the flagpole, and no zones identified. When I asked at they turn - they were curt and dismissive. Also disappointing food - hot dogs and brats were the ONLY food, and limited non alcoholic drinks - no iced tea or Arnold Palmer. I got a deal, but just not worth $60 plus tax and fees.
Suprised!
After a rainy night, my intentions to play Old Hickory were canceled due to no carts. Checked GolfNow, found Scenic View was available and allowed carts. Took my three sons and we had a great time. Loved the layout as everything was dry and playable. No water in traps and greens rolled true. Was a windy day, but fun to play with my sons. Will come back.
Fun course
Cool course with some challenging holes. Was a little busy on a Friday morning when we went and pace of play was a little slow. If they had a starter or announcement of who's on the first tee box next it would probably improve it a ton. There was people just teeing off whenever and two somes going out back to back instead of grouping up with the other two some on the tee, and numerous people skipping holes trying to make it go faster but just slowing things up more. The course was super dry, greens and fairways were hard, which was kind of surprising since we have had a ton of rain. Other than that it was an enjoyable round and will definitely play again once we get more rain.
Mark 3 some
Greens are challenging an fast fairways are challenging it was a good challenge for someone who didn't play there before will be back
Good value
For $37 it's a good deal.. I wouldn't pay more than that..
truly scenic views
Loved the course! Great condition, fast greens, and beautiful views. Amazingly priced course. Will definitely play here again.
Challenging
Tougher than it looks. Good conditions, hilly, and challenging.
Classic layout
Excellent greens, somewhat shaggy fairways since they haven’t had much rain. Interesting layout. Well worth playing anytime.
Good Course, Not worth 50+$
Played on a Saturday morning, 57$.
No genuine complaints, it was a fun course with a decent layout. We teed off at 640ish am, came around the turn to a completely open refreshment stand at the 10th hole. Not see something you see often as an early golfer, kudos to them for that. Bev cart was also out working early, love to see it.
The only things I would be critical of; the bunkers are more like gravel, and the cups clearly haven’t been changed for more than four days (rough shape and no filled cup marks on all 18 holes).
Course layout provides a great chance to shoot a low score if the golf gods decide it’s your day, but the course has its tricks up it’s sleeve.
I’d come back, but I’d also spend less elsewhere for a better quality course in the area before considering returning. However if you appreciate seeing a bev cart three times every nine before 8am, you may appreciate paying the price for customer service. Each their own!
Fun course
Fun course, very good conditions. Interesting terrain.
Great but…
I had a voucher for a free round. I made reservations online and laid down a card to hold the tee time. Still have not been refunded my $$$. Now being told I have to do it in person. I live an hour away. Very frustrating to say the least.
Not enjoyable golf
Went to this course on the recommendation of a couple I played with the day before at Washington County GC. The course was not very busy, but they offer a great rate to seniors . That being said the round played very slow. The greens on the front side are extremely small with tremendous slope to them and fall off 3-5 feet at the fringe. With the dry conditions it made them difficult to land and stick so you are constantly play a chip from the 3” tall rough. The back side plays a little better as you can run the ball up on 7 of 9 greens..this course is a value shopper course for those who don’t play a long ball compatible to Silver Spring Golf club.
