Washington County Golf Course
About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

Fantastic Public Gem
Top notch in every aspect. The course is a more player friendly version of Erin Hills which in the same general area of Wisconsin.
Rolling Hills and strategic bunkering with true and fast greens that reward well struck shots. Rough is not crazy penal, but tough to hold the greens from it. Will definitely play again.
Great day in the Heat
Great day, the weather was hot, the greens are in great shape. Not rushed, because even the group behind spent time looking for balls in the tall grass.
Great Tract - Requires Precision
The course was in great shape; but because of the amount of play the course gets, the pace could be frustrating for smaller groups that play quickly.
The fairways aren't as treelined as some courses in the state, so a lot of balls can be lost in the rough that consists of high unmowed grass. Therefore, if you're a high handicapper who tends to spray the ball around, the course might be an exercise in frustration.
It's a quality experince that deserves the accolades bestowed upon it by YouTube and other media platforms.
Washington County
Fantastic conditions. 5 hours wasn't the greatest for pace of play
Soggy
WC is a very nice course. Yesterday was VERY Soggy due to all the rain in the area. Yesterday for the price$49 it was worth playing. During the summer their prices are borderline outrageous for a County Course without being a resident. I will still probably be back but will be looking for deals as opposed to paying the full amount they will be asking. Yesterday our 4th player didn’t get the deal and he paid $71 to play a soak and wet course in April. Not a good look for the course IMO.
An Arthur Hills Gem
One of the best conditioned and well architected layouts for a public facility in the Midwest. Great value for the money.
Early season- nice shape.
Even with all the rain we got, the course was in really nice early season form. I didn't like cart path only, but I understand.
Great course
I try to golf here at least once a year. I enjoy the layout a lot. The golf course is in great shape.
Great course
Have played here about 10 times over the past few years
Great value
Fair and challenging layout
Greens rolled true at a good speed
Bunkers were good ( only in 1)
Tee boxes mostly level and in good condition
Played in exactly 4:00 hours (foursome)
Staff was helpful
Only issue , nothing to do with the course is the golfers!
Nobody here fixes their hallmarks on the green
I could have fixed 5/6 in my sight every green
This is a problem at most golf courses not only here
Nice course, fair price , good test
Give it a try
GummerK
Washington County is the greatest value for a course of this caliber. Conditions, servIce and amenities are private course competitive. It will challenge the most seasoned players and still be cost-worthy to newer players.
Disappointed
The day was brutally hot, and somehow a fivesome was allowed to go out in front of us. We waited on every shot virtually. I don’t understand why there was no Marshall on the course.
fair challenge
washington county golf course gets rave reviews and rightly so, however as with most nice courses, there should be some caveats. first off, the course was in great condition, clean fairways, true rolling greens, not too fast nor slow. there should be a ranger or 2 as this course is busy and rightly so. some of the tee to greens are in close quarters so 1 of 2 issues-stray shots and people picking up "seemingly lost balls" we had 2 occasions we knew where our ball SHOULD have been, but...then you see players from other holes scattering away as we approached. as we had a stray shot as many do, find the fairway of an opposing hole, only to find a group setting up their shots-oh were you hitting the callaway with green soccer balls as he pulls it out of his pocket... hmmmmm. maybe if we use topflight or wilson staff, this wouldn't happen as often. also, does one have to remind players to fix their ball marks and divots?? these all should be common golf etiquette 101...all in all however, this is a really nice track
