About
Lake Wisconsin Country Club is located on the outskirts of Prairie du Sac, just a 30-minute drive from both Madison and the Wisconsin Dells. The golf course is quite short at 5,881 yards, which makes it pleasantly walkable, but it is certainly not an easy course. The front nine plays across rolling hills while the back nine is centered upon the manmade Lake Wisconsin. The bunkering throughout the golf course is minimal, but it is strategic and fair. The small, fast greens have enough undulations to give them some character but they are not overly difficult though the tricky doglegs shaped by stands of mature trees will test your accuracy. The par-3 12th hole is the signature thanks to a challenging island tee. Lake Wisconsin Country Club's 16th hole also has a memorable tee shot between two towering oak trees followed by a short iron to a well guarded green that backs onto the Wisconsin River.

Spring Golf
Great place to start your season, course
Is in great shape with challenging greens. Playing along side the Lake gives you some wonderful views.

Unique course with character.
Bogey golfer. Played from the white tees which made for an enjoyable round. Looked like things got pretty challenging on a few holes from the tips. Six par 3s could be a turn off for some but 4 of the 6 have a lot of character, be it the Wisconsin river or elevation changes. 40* and misting and I still had a blast. Would come back in a heart beat. Course was in good shape for all of the rain we've had.
Just a gem of a course.
Lake Wisconsin again was super fun and interesting after not playing in a few years.
Condition was super and course was tight as ever and being nearly 100 years it still has some flexing of its muscles.
Short, but Sweet......
Good value and fun
I have golfed this course a few times when I visit relatives. It is relatively short, but can be challenging if you are not in the right positions. The greens are small but roll even and beautifully.
After playing again I feel this was a great value. Played in just over 3 hours and felt good about the experience.
Great condition!
This shortish course will test you. Beautifully situated along the Wisconsin River. A course built when length wasn't the way a course challenged your average golfer. You can see the subtle strategies in nearly every hole. You had better take a little extra time on the chipping and putting range the greens are fast and true and 2-3 footers can be difficult if your on the wrong side of the cup.
Fun, sporty course
This was the first time playing the course. The staff were friendly and attentive. Course was in very good shape considering the resent rains. It was well manicured and the greens putted true. There were maintenance workers out on the course but they were very respectful toward us. It was a fun round with a nice variety of holes. I would recommend this course and would play it again.
hole in one
we played here on mother's day, there wasn't a lick of wind until the last couple of holes. 3rd round of the season so a little rust in the game but aced hole 15 for my first hole in one. 97 yd par 3 with a SW, landed 2 ft in front of the pin and rolled straight in. Very memorable experience and didn't care about how i played the rest of the round. lol.

Lake Wisconsin Country Club
A good course. Par 70 (36-34) Front nine has several interesting holes, especially #6. The back has 4 par 3’s. My wife and I have played many rounds there and have played in under 4 hours each time. Very good conditions- especially the greens.
It is a good value for the money.

late season golf in December
I've played this course dozens of times. Today they paired me up with a scratch golfer and a 6 handicap golfer. I had a 91 average starting the season and had my best season ever, averaging 88.4 for the last 20 rds I played. Today was no exception; I shot 84 from the blue tees which i normally don't play from. The other gentlemen had me by 25 yds or more on average from the tee but my short game more than held up to the challenge. Since it is not prime season for golf in
WI the greens were more than a little bumpy yet I putted well despite this. I will be back next year.
