Baraboo Country Club

About
Located just a short drive from Madison, Baraboo Country Club overlooks the rocky bluffs of Devil's Lake State Park. The golf course has a stunning natural setting that is also indicative of the rich history of Baraboo. The course is routed through carefully protected and preserved Indian burial mounds that are more than 1,000 years old. Draper creek ambles through the golf course, connecting Devil's Lake to the Baraboo River. It comes into play on half of the holes. The par-5 eighth is the course's signature. This tricky hole first requires a drive over water to a generous landing area before doglegging left to another landing area that is tightly lined with trees, water, and Indian mounds. Finally there is a blind shot to a sloping green that not only breaks severely from back to front but is also well protected by bunkers.

Uniquely laid out course due to building a new clubhouse (hole 1& 9 are par threes). Many tee box options to match level of play.
GolfNow booking challenge
Attendant refused to honor part of the fees prepaid through GolfNow. We had to pay the full price and then call GolfNow to have the get me a refund from the course.
Challenging but fun
Course in nice shape. Rough a little thicker than usual. Great value on an excellent course. A few really tough holes add to the fun.
Awesome Spring Play
Well Spring had sprung right into summertime here in Baraboo over the last several days. The B.C.C. Staff has done a great job getting the course into playable condition in such short order. The greens where plugged and sanded in fall and a bit slow but are going to be great in a few weeks. The. Fairway grass is coming in well and trap not bad either. Pace of play was good for such a great day. Nice kind to the staff for a good start to the year
Greens are slow
Greens are slow but a fun layout and fun course
Beautiful layout
Wonderful experience. Staff was friendly and welcoming. When the staff learned it was our fist time he went over the layout, and gave us the course guide. Indicating that the guide would be key for the back 9, it was. Condition of the course was immaculate. Really enjoyed my round.
Well kept course
I always enjoy playing 18 at Baraboo because it’s always in good shape and it is challenging but not impossible. Except for one hole, number 17 which I find impossible to play well.
That having been said, I always look forward to playing there.
Well maintained course
This is a very nice course always in good condition. I find it fun and interesting. There is one hole (17) that I don’t feel is a reasonable hole. Even from the forward tees, it is impossible to play well.
The people are always friendly at the course and I enjoy the quiet electric carts.
