Class Act
The Northeast had just gone thru 3 days of historic rain so this review is a bit of a one off. Staff is great. Course is beautiful. As I understand it, a former private club that was acquired by Westchester County. A perfect fall day. Pace of play was quite frankly horrible, but the views and the weather were fabulous. Pet peeves, I personally fixed over 100 pitch marks on their lovely greens and filled as many divots as I could. The average player at the course shows no respect for the game. Sad.

One of the better courses close to NYC
Everywhere design and wood jerky golf course. Good value for money.
Only drawback is no driving range

Pretty good alternative despite....
Like many (most?) courses this time of the year, at least some parts of the courses will be 'average' at best.
The greens here were aerated, bumpy, chewed up and sandy. Therefore, your putting scores will reduce your overall expectations as well as your overall course rating (today).

Nice day to play
I was able yo get a tee time the same day. Its a very beautiful place to play, unfortunately the pace of play takes the enjoyment of a nice day to play golf. I am not a good player but i do not like to make the people behind me wait for their turn to play.

Awesome layout! Great staff!!! Pace of play was good. One must understand, the more challenging the design the slower the pace. Definitely, not for 105 or above golfers. Very fun, challenging course. GREAT TIME!

Careless golfers
Lots of unfixed ballmarks makes it rather hard to putt but that’s not entirely on the course itself

5.5 Hour Weekday Round!!!
They really need to send marshalls out on the course to keep the pace of play at a reasonable rate. The golf carts all have GPS which means the clubhouse knows how fast each group is playing and where the slow groups are. YET NOTHING is done. There was a starter making sure everyone leaves on time but what good is that if it becomes a cluster**** after the 1st tee shots. And the greens were probably the worst I’ve seen here. They were aerated recently and the greens weren’t cut or rolled. It was like putting on the fringe all day. Just pure frustration all around.

Sooooooooloooooooooooooog!
The rounds are so long and no marshal insight. Golfers hitting multiple balls while people are waiting. So many people left the course while I was playing that I lost count. Soooooolooong on the round and soooooooloooooooooong to me!!! Bye Felicia!

From finish to start
Seems all summer I’ve been commenting on what great shape the local courses have been in. That run unfortunately came to and end at Hudson. The hot deal should have been a hint. The front nine had been aerated, which I understand needs to happen, so a cheaper round is welcomed. But the greens and all the cart path only holes were just a mess. Huge divots beaver tails everywhere. On the greens you’d think no one who plays here knows how to fix a ball mark.
The course offers a much better back than front nine with more interesting holes and improved conditions to boot. Maybe there had been a tournament? Heavy rough and tough pin placements. Participants too busy to clean up after themselves?
But lastly, after a winning round and looking forward to collecting my liquid winnings, who closes a clubhouse bar at 6 in the summer?
An uneven day for sure.

Beautiful Course, devious design
I have played this course a few times but has been a while and forgot it from previous rounds. I like the course BUT, why put crap in landing areas (bunker, waste area) that are 230-250 yards off the teebox. The course is difficult enough without that and then it sucks the life out of you.
Regardless, had fun.
Oh and the stupid NYS regulations with COVID still have them without water on the course (to drink), what the actual F? Please get realistic and stop

Sad that this is all we have
In westchester county this is the best public option we have and it’s pretty rough. Pace of play is 5 and half hours there were often two groups waiting at a tee box. The course is torn up. Tee boxes are muddy, drainage isn’t great so lots of standing water on the course. Greens are marked with so many un repaired pitch marked. Fairways have huge chunkes of divots removed and UN repaired. The volume of people who want to golf far outweighs the capacity of the public courses here. Westchester county park should open a few more courses. How about buying some of the golf courses that have closed and are sitting empty. Don’t we pay enough taxes?
