About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Fun Course to Shake Things Up
My experience for the first time here was mostly average. No water coolers and the food truck was closed at the turn for us late on a Wednesday. Risky to leave golfers out in this heat with no additional water. Conditions weren’t the best for the price we paid either. To be fair, the dog days of summer in NJ the weather can get scorching hot. Tough to keep conditions on the greens excellent. Definitely noticed a bunch of unfixed divots and markings in greens and fair ways. That’s what you get for a twilight tee time…
Definitely should be one of the nicer courses in the area so I will give it another chance in the future. Very fun and tricky layout for sure so I see the potential. Expectations were high with the price and things I’ve heard so not giving up on it yet, but slightly disappointed in my first impressions here. 3.5/5
Good course, slow round
Love this course, but rangers need to be more aggressive in enforcing pace of play.
Great Golf Course
I have played RiverWinds several times before. As always, the course was in great shape. I have always found it to be challenging but fair, and I enjoy playing there. I look forward to returning soon.
Good Day
I had played the course a couple of years ago and decided to try it again. I’m glad I did. The course is in terrific shape, and I really enjoyed playing it. I’ll be back again soon.
Course is great to play and in excellent conditions, however it started pouring around hole 9 and wasn't going to let up, so we only were able to get nine holes in. We went into the pro shop to get a rain check for nine holes and the person working didn't know how to issue one as we booked tee time through golf now. She recommended we call pro shop on Monday to get a rain check. I called Monday and they said I would receive a text with rain check. Never did and I called again on Tuesday and Wednesday, they said someone would call me back and they never did. When you pay $100+ per player, this is unacceptable. How hard is it to issue a rain check for 9 holes as we'd play again and pay for the remaining nine holes.
DO NOT PLAY TWILIGHT ROUNDS
Offering twilight rounds to the public that cost us money when you have high school practice rounds and they are walking is a scam. Teed off at 4:30 and finished 10 holes by 8:00 pm. This course should not be offering 18 holes to the public when the course is backed up with practice rounds walking the course. Otherwise, the course is great. But it’s a waste of money 2-close when you’re stuck behind high school teams practicing.

Riverwinds do better
I understand that aereating the greens is part of maintaining the course and it has to be done. That being said how about a discount for a week or two after that happens? $125 was definitely not worth it. Also they had rangers out but were not really doing anything? Front 9 was fine, the back we were waiting for the group in front of us on every hole. 4 hour and 40 minutes is not terrible but it could have been better.
Incorrect charge
I never played this course and they still charged me a 2 man course play after canceling on golf now. Either golfnow or this course has to figure out what’s going on.
