About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Golfer Reviews
Nice course
Course was more beautiful than I expected after taking a look at overhead view. A few greens are tricky and were the fastest I played this year. Noticed one of the 200+ yard par 3's might be easily extended backwards into the woods to make a par 4, turning this into a par 72 course. Felt like 6 par 3's was more than I'd like but the 5 par 5's do balance the course out fairly well. The varied layout makes for an interesting round. Try this course.
Wonderful day at the course
Greens 13 on stump meter and rolled perfect. Course in wonderful shape and played in 4 hrs with nobody in front of us.
Staff a little touchy, can't wear jeans so bring the overalls.
GOOD TEST
Good course. always enjoy playing here.
great deal
I usually play this course after September 15 when the rates drop. It is rarely overcrowded, the scenery is great and the course is always in great condition, although the greens were recently aerated.
Great course!
Very nice layout.
Love this course, good pace of play, challenging, great value for the price. Highly recommended!
Best of the Best'
I have played close to 50 different golf courses this summer and Colts neck is definitely in the top five of that group.
Short but Challenging
Had a great experience on this course.
Although the course plays short, it makes up for it with its challenges. The layout of the course made it fun and challenging both at the same time. The chances to GIR (Green in Regulation) are there, but you have to work for it.
We all found that the back nine was so much more challenging than the front, and we all agreed that the par 3s on this course were the hardest part of playing.
Not many divots on the greens which is nice and always appreciated by putters.
The ranger stopped by pretty often and asked how we were doing, how everything was going, and to have fun. You don't hear that at many courses, but a little bit of respect goes a long way.
Overall, great day. Would play there again if given an opportunity.
PS - they only serve beer to members
Nice layout
Open layout but watch out for the fescue
Greens roll nice
Staff was very friendly
Day of golf
The course was in very good condition. No sauerkraut or onions for the hot dogs. Front nine went at a good pace, the back nine went so slow I was ready to take a nap by the thirteenth hole.
Too much fescue won't be back
Course was artificially toughened by the ridiculous fescue and forced 200 yard carries.
No beer except for members is an issue
Non members second class citizens too expensive 78 with the discount
Won't be back
Golf
Course is excellent. First time to play here and the layout is perfect for my game.. The greens are a bit difficult to read because of different undulations. Played with a local player. Park who is very helpful in helping me how to play each hole. Had a good deal from golf now and will surely play here again.
Solid course
Nice course and staff, condition of the course was on point when we played. Very reasonable cost as well. The back 9 in my opinion was the best. The Only downside was you could not get a mixed drink or beer from cart girl or bar do to a members only rule for Booz, so BYOB if your a drinker other an that good place to play.
Plenty of birdies in horse country
I have always loved this short but challenging layout. You can go low or get in trouble in a hurry around here. Shot shaping and proper tee club selections are a premium on this track. If you haven't played Colts Neck Golf Club I suggest you get out there this year. The afternoon hot deals are an amazing value for this semi private club!
fun
Course is fun with all type terrain and shot shapes played with a great golfer and enjoyed the entire time.
Great course great staff
i have never written a review in my life..on the 8th hole of Colts neck golf club I turn to my friend and say "this course is so nice and the staff is so friendly I am going to write a review". Course was in great shape staff was insanely nice it was like I was in w golf utopia. Would definitely recommend giving this course a try
Nice Day
Always look forward to playing Colts Neck CC , I love this course and pace of play ! I would make a suggestion that they should advise you before booking tee times if greens were aerated, course was in good condition but the greens were very bumping and cannot keep a line due to recent aeration. I know its APRIL and there are normal maintenance activities taking place, but I would like to have that knowledge prior and decided if I want to play there or look else where.
