Colts Neck Golf Club
About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Great spot
Very good for December, love to play in summer . Found it easy to score
Can't wait till to play here again.
Heard nothing but good things about this course and what a golf course it was. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The pro shop had everything a golfer needed and the practice facility's were in great shape. Only downside was the driving range were those mats, but didn't mind since my round only cost me $23 after tax.
The course was in great shape with a few temporary tee boxes. Come to find out, our group were the last ones out before the close the greens for the winter. So it was a pleasure seeing what this course had to offer. The layout was excellent with a mix of small and large greens. Various elevation changes, but nothing drastic. I was told during their peek season the fescue was a real problem, but their were controlled which made looking for your ball much easier. The greens definitely rolled true and quick.
I would never had paid full price for this place, but I was glad that I found such a great deal. Thanks GolfNow!
snowing
Real nice but we played in a snowy rain most of the time so a little tough to rate it. But you can tell it is well maintained and in great shape.
Our foursome had a great day
We teed off at 1242pm and we finished before it got dark at 430pm
Hidden Gem
Booked this randomly without ever playing and was PLEASANTLY surprised. Course was in great condition, I breezed through the round, everyone was very friendly. The course is gorgeous for late October so I am excited to see it during peak summer. For non-member customers, the only drawback is that you can't go in to the clubhouse to the bar
Terrible condition
If your going to do construction on your golf course like ripping up 5 tee boxes you should let golf now and general customers know if situation
Good but unusual.
Course conditions were excellent, but the course has far too many quirky and unusual holes. (Par 3s over 200 yards then Par 4s under 300 yards). Couple of normal length Par 5s but then several very short.
Not a normal layout.
Colts neck golf
Overall good experience. Very nice course. Well-maintained. We are looking forward to returning!
What a day
What can I say.....absolutely beautiful weather in the low 70's, golfing with a buddy and paired with 2 really nice guys also. The course was amazing from tee box to greens. Had a great time and will be back again next Sunday.
Not worth the Elitist attitude
Semi private club. Always has been. Got kicked out of the bar area waiting for a sandwich cause I wasn't a member. Refused alcohol from the cart girl cause I'm not a member. Unreal. These guys need to visit a REAL private club. See how well they treat their guests! Course not worth it. They'll take your money to play, but everything else is off limits. It's BYOK (Bring Your Own Keg)! See if they like that.
Wannabe Private Course
Always has been. Always will be. I get better service being a guest at a real private club. Order a sandwich to start the round, and no one at the window, so went into the bar to order before teeing off. After placing the order was told I had to wait outside because I wasn't a member. This course never was a private club, always semi-private, so why the elitist attitude? Paid my "guest" fees like everyone else, but can't stand in certain places??? I've been to the most exclusive, private clubs in the country, and never got this kind of treatment. Then during the round we tried to buy a beer off the cart and were asked again if we were members. Can't serve the public, even though we paid our greens (guest) fees. Unreal. Even if you want to "act" like a private club, you can still treat all like they have paid their way onto the course. Give me a break. They'll take your money to play, just don't expect to be treated like they want you there. STAY AWAY! Heading to Knob Hill next time.

Nice course in great shape. Good value for your money.Challenging for the experienced player.
No coolers, golf Now tee times treated as 2nd class citizens
I enjoy the course every time I play. Except for two things.
1) This year I can't bring my own cooler to keep your water cold! they confiscated my cooler. Why would any course not allow you to drink your own cold water on a hot summer day? Oh, It's not like they have many carts riding around either. Your option is bring your own water which will get hot or drink the well water they have on the course! Really???? Oh, and after the 3rd hole, you don't get back to the clubhouse to buy water until 18!
2) All of a sudden, If you get a golf Now tee time, you are treated as a 2nd class citizen. Apparently, they like the revenue, but not the golfers. They do not let you tee off early, even if no other groups are waiting or even there! My partner and I had to wait 30 mins on 1st tee. Starter told us, "I can't let you out early with a golf Now tee time." Really? There is no one here and I haven't seen anyone tee off in last 20 mins. So they make you wait there like two schmucks! I would have left, but couldn't get my money back!
Colts Neck is well maintained, but don't bring your cooler!

Great Shape
I played Colts Neck because they have not started aerating greens yet. They are working on some fairways but that didn't effect the quality of the course or play. This is a fair course if you keep it in play. Good chances to score well/. However, a little off-line and you are in deep grasses that will penalize you every time. Bunkers are well maintained and in good condition. Greens were very true and rolled beautifully. GPS on carts was a caddy that helped with distances and markers. A great value at the Golfnow price.
Nice friendly course...
Played here many times and I am very pleases. Being a woman I was tried like any other golfer. Friendly staff and very pleasant surroundings. Very easy to book a time. I had to reschedule due yo weather and I had no problem with GolfNow. They are very helpful. I'll be back to play there again soon...
Good local course
Have played a few rounds at Colts neck this year. Really enjoy the course, greens are well kept and course is fairly challenging.
Great Course
Beautiful and Challanging course! Was very impressed with all the Maintainece going on at many of the holes to keep the course in the beautiful shape it is in ! We also ate at the course and the waitress was very friendly and the food was delicious!
Top Notch
Absolutely beautiful course. Short yardage for someone like me who averages 290 yards per drive, but it has beautiful views, great facilities, and friendly staff. Definitely worth my time here.
Great condition
Second time playing colts neck this season and it's in really good shape with fast greens. Probably the best greens in the area for a public course. Nice layout, and super maintained. Took advantage of a $55 hot deal so i ranked it high for value for the money. Their primetime rates are $100 but i wouldn't pay more than $70 for a round of golf. Not their fault as NJ golf prices are just way overpriced in general.
