About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Golfer Reviews
Great Course
Course was in great shape, can't wait to play again
Great shape for this time of year
We always try to play this course a few times a year. The weather was great 70 deg &sunny,a little windy, not too bad.Course was in great shape for this time of the year, greens were rolling true.We waited a few holes due to a slow foursome in front of us,finished in 4.5 hrs, standing on green cleaning your clubs? fiddling in your bag greenside while people are standing in fairway waiting?Cmon. OK gripe over,go play Colts Neck Golf Club.
Great day of golf, poor food and beverage
The round was great and I had expected the course to be under winter conditions. What I didn't expect was the fact that there was no food or beverages available. The booking paperwork specified "do not bring any food or beverage- only on-course purchases were allowed, and only at their facilities. The kitchen was closed and my daughter and I went through 18 holes with one bottle of water. Either leave mid round to go eat and lose out, or eat much later. So may I suggest that GolfNow work out a way to warn golfers that they need to bring food, at least until Colts Neck advises the kitchen is open. That would have been good info to have.
Good News
All the Tees and Greens were open. The course was in great shape, especially for this time of year. Some of the tees were a little uneven and scruffy, but no big deal. Favorite hole is the 5th, dogleg right. Long forced carry to a fairway with a bunker in the middle. Bite off as much as you can chew to the right or play safer to the left. Then it's a short iron in.
very dissapointing
The course had temporary tees, temporary greens and the GPS in the carts were not working. As such you had no idea how far the flags were. It was like playing a challenging miniature golf course. Before you spend your $ confirm that the above conditions dont exist or you will be wasting your time. Very upsetting that all these conditions are not disclosed on Golf Now
Tough short course with excellent conditions
Semi private course so conditions is better than your typical public facility. Despite its lack in length, the course is rather difficult if you lose balls off the tee.
Looks Good, Plays Good
Even though the morning did not have the advertised weather, the course was in excellent shape. This is a short Championship course that test your shot making abilities. There are many blind shots that will get you in trouble but, the traps were perfect with great bounce from the fresh white medium course sand.
My playing partners were encouraged by how I was able to execute bunker disbursements (HA,HA) I told you there were a FEW blind shots around there. Put this on your list, if in the area.
Fun Course for everyone
One of favorite local courses I play. This course is always in great shape although I did find green is bit slower than usual. But, no complain since it's already in December. Fairway and rough are also in good condition...always love to come back for more. Be sure to head out there before they close regular green for the winter and only open temporary green for play.
Colts neck outstanding
First time on course and I was completely floored! Course was in outstanding condition which says a lot given the time of year (mid November). Tee boxes, greens, fairways, bunkers, etc., all were great. Except for one hole (16th), which was understandable, every green was free of leaves - unbelievable! Will play there again. Course design was interesting, very playable and enjoyable.
a gem
Everything about my foursomes experience at Colts Neck was A+ The conditions for mid-November were as good as when I played in the summer. A varied, Challenging and visually pleasing tract with superb greens, sand as you would see at the very top courses anywhere and a super friendly staff. The high end electric carts with course GPS very great bonus. For the hot deal price worthy of coming back time and again. For Nov. 14th not many leaves, the facility takes great pride and care of this gem!!
The course was in great shape.
Treated very well by the staff. Course in great shape with fast greens and long par 3's and just enough water to make it extremely interesting. Can't wait to come back.
Weekday Round
The course layout looks receptive....but U must execute the shot. Greens played slower then previous rounds - time of year. Staff - Welcomed us to club very cordial/professional. Got taken back over tee-time confusion but got round in before dark.....45min. booking delay.......
Nice fast greens tough course for high handicapers
Had a very good time playing here. Unfortunately for me I don't play many as difficult as this one. The long Par 3's were especially hard because the courses I play usually have shorter Par 3's. Course was in great shape for this time of year.
Always Fun
For public courses In the area, Colts Neck is probably the best conditioned and has quickest greens (private club speed). The course has a mix of different types of holes including par 3's that range from 80 to 210 yards. For the most part, you'll use every club in your bag. Always an enjoyable round. Prices are a little steep during peak season but nice deals can be had in the off season. GPS on the carts are always a plus.
Let it Heal...Then Play
Greens and fairways were healing from recent aeration so give it another week or so. Once all healed up, should be an excellent fall track. Not the longest course you will play, even from the tips, but accuracy is required. Couple of really nice long par 3s. Par 5s are most certainly getable. Definitely recommend.
Great day, enjoyable course
Pretty wide open, nothing overly challenging. I'll defiantly be back. Greens still have about 2-3weeks left to heal from aeration but overall the course condition is very nice, nicer than most after this extremely dry summer ! I didn't find any ground that was dried out as if hitting off concrete, like many public courses out there right now. In fact there were a few holes that were even a bit soggy/soft but still playable. Overall I enjoyed it very much and will be back before the season closes out.
NO NEED TO RUN BACK
This place is just OK, I play every week with a group. The layout is not very challenging, the tee boxes are weak, greens just OK. It's the kind of course you say I played it and move on. No rush to return and at $90 a round you can play anywhere.
Gotta play it
Even with the hot dry weather that is burning up courses everywhere Colts Neck is in top shape. The layout is challenging but fair. The staff is fantastic and it's a joy to play a round on their course.
Great Deal ! Course is beautiful !
Unbelievable Hot Deal for only $35 !...Course is always excellently maintained...it's nestled among million dollar homes and farmland. Most of the courses in the area are deserts...not Colts Neck...the grass was actually green lol...fairways and greens were in excellent condition ...greens are always fast and ball rolls true...pace of play is very good (they time you)...the course is what I call "golfer friendly"...I would definitely recommend this course but not at their summer prices...way too high...they have great bargains in the fall, so check their rates online...
