Instead of playing golf, we end up looking for balls, half of the day because of the grass being 5 to 6 inches tall we couldn’t find our balls. I brought 3 Other guys with me that never played Gamblers Ridge and all I heard from them was complaining that the grass was too long and they couldn’t find their balls so I felt like I didn’t play golf that day. All I was doing was looking for balls and hearing complaints.
Bust out the Shag balls.
Fairways are a must. Punishing , ball eating rough.

Great course!
Course is in great shape. From tee to green looks great. Rough definitely needs to be cut. People looking for balls in the rough definitely slowed the pace down significantly!

Slow Round
I haven't played here in four years and now I remember why. It was over 5 hours to finish. There were plenty of rangers, but they did not try to speed play, they only enforced no cart on fairways. The fairway grass was tall and shaggy and the "fringe" was just as tall as the fairway. The greens were slow and bumpy like there were aerated, but they weren't aerated. Overall a terrible day.

Short but punishes you with very long rough. Great condition

Miserable front desk
The starter is nice more times than not. But God forbide you go to the front desk with a question. Very shut off and disgusting answers. Opt for the mobile check in to avoid the front desk visit and just deal with the starter.

High Grass
I understand it’s been raining but when they say in the rough, they weren’t lieing. Grass was extremely high. Could not get any distance coming out of the grass.

Surprise
I had not played Gamblers Ridge in years and it was in great shape for a municipal course. We played at 6:44 am and as a twosome we played in 2 hours and 45 minutes. The greens appeared in ok shape and may of needed to be rolled but the fairways were plush, the bunkers were a bit beat up but for the price and the pace it was great. I am sure if you played later in the day it could be treacherous because the round may take close to 5 hours,

Marathon round
I haven't played here in four years and now I remember why. The round was over 5 hours. Slow Play caused by poor management
We were made to wait for our scheduled tee time ( which is fine when the course is busy) but it only bunched 3 groups up with no one in front of the first group slowing everything down. Making us wait did not increase the income to the course it only caused everything to slow down and actually limited your potential for more play and at a better pace.

GREAT CONDITION!
I played about 5 different courses the past 2 weeks Gamblers Ridge was by far in the best condition. Although I gave up many strokes to the thick rough it was a refreshing difficulty. You can not beat the price! It is a must play.

Gambler Ridge
Course needs work, tee boxes and some greens. Needs better maintenance of grass off fairways, found it to be very high.

Great course for a great price
No complaints about the course except for the greens need to be rolled and smoothed out but if that’s the worst thing, then it’s a winning score compared to many many other courses around. Try to play here once every 2 or 3 weeks and will definitely continue to do so.
