Beautiful day had no one ahead of us are behind us all day

Extremely disappointing experience — management needs to take a serious look at this course.

The biggest issue was the pace of play, which was absolutely unacceptable. The group in front of us finished approximately 41 minutes after the foursome ahead of them. That is an extraordinary delay and should never be allowed to continue unchecked.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that a course employee was aware of the issue but did little to address it. We were left with the impression that the slow group had a personal relationship with the employee, and therefore the normal expectations regarding pace of play simply did not apply to them. Other groups were apparently allowed to play through at the turn, but we were not given that option.

Golf etiquette is straightforward: keep pace with the group ahead of you. Course employees should enforce that standard fairly and consistently—not selectively.

The irony is that we had a writer from a local golf publication with us who was there specifically to experience the course for a potential article in the January 2027 issue covering public golf courses in New Jersey. The course had an opportunity for positive, unpaid exposure and publicity. Unfortunately, after this experience, that opportunity is no longer on the table.

Then there are the golf carts. Quite frankly, they were among the worst-maintained carts we have encountered at a New Jersey course. Some had holes in the flooring and were in obvious need of replacement or significant maintenance. That is not the standard customers should have to accept.

The frustrating part is that the course itself has potential. With the right ownership or management, better maintenance, and someone who understands customer service and pace-of-play management, this could be a much better golf experience.

Unfortunately, potential only goes so far. Management has to actually manage. Allowing one group to hold up the entire course for an extended period while apparently doing nothing about it is poor customer service and poor golf-course management.

I sincerely hope the ownership takes these concerns seriously. The course doesn’t necessarily need a new layout—it needs better management, better accountability, better-maintained equipment, and consistent enforcement of basic golf etiquette.

There is potential here, but based on our experience, significant changes are needed before I would recommend this course to other golfers.

Played on Labor Day and it was a beautiful day. Course was in good shape. For aerated greens, they were in good shape. Rough was high and fairways are narrow. Course has good elevation changes that add to the challenge.

The course was in ok shape and the pace of play did slow down a bit on the back 9 but the real issue was the golf cart. Absolutely no brakes and this isn't the first time. When I complained to the young lady at the turn the response was "yeah, they're all like that" and just shrugged her shoulders. I almost ran off the course on 2 occasions and really feared for my well being. Invest some of the cash in carts you have a course with a really nice layout. Also, all of the carts had no floor which means your feet get caught when you're driving or trying to brake.

We were behind a foursome that kept hitting extra shots on every hole and the rangers never addressed it. On top of that, the cart we had had to be primed every time we stopped and would only go about 5mph. I heard other golfers complain about their carts as well. Gonna be a cold day in hades before I return. Love the layout though.

Booked a Hot Deal for 1145 for family, had a very nice time. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Our gas cart was a little loud and rough!

I enjoy playing the course because it’s close to home, in good shape, and always times available. The pace of play is decent. The course layout is pretty standard with some nice holes and some boring holes. Overall, it’s not worth the money. But I feel like most courses are just charging an absurd price nowadays. I like to walk and the walking rate is $52 during the middle of the week. I could go ride at better courses for less than it costs to walk here, it’s a shame. I’d say Hanover, Gamblers and Cream Ridge have just put themselves in a price range that doesn’t justify playing at any of the courses.

Always in great shape, the staff is always friendly, great layout.

But please invest in some new carts.

Played here a few times . For the price it a no brainer. Decent pace of play and there’s some tricky holes . I like that it’s definitely tucked away, you’re not going to hit any houses or anything. The last couple of times I played there the course was in rough shape but this last time everything looked really good.

Played this course and had two young golfers ahead of us that did not know what they were doing or proper golf etiquette. We were a for foursome behind the twosome and always waiting on them. Where are the Rangers on this course?

The course is in good shape, especially the greens.

Played early afternoon, 3 1/2 hour round never stopped.
