Winter Golf in NJ
Is more like spring golf. Fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes were manageable. Greens for this time of the year were good. Staff is always great. No complaints

Extremely slow for a midweek in February. Need to keep on people about divot repair and maybe fill in the crators on cart path.

Winter golf ?
Played on a day that was in low 40s. Course was in surprisingly good shape. No one should expect perfect in February. Greens were good and traps had soft sand and were playable. Staff was nice. Drove 60 miles and it was worth it.

Call before you book . Course management is now making unreasonable restrictions. Played on a day when the course was 100% dry and perfect for carts . the management restricted carts to car path only . So said the starter Gary . Not even able to ride on 1st cut rough!. Would have been better off walking with a pull cart . If you have difficulty walking it’s not worth the booking on a nice day even when the course is 100% dry . You do twice as much walking when it’s car path only . Once a go to course now a last resort

Course is still very wet.

Good enough to work on your game
If you are looking for an off season round or one to get you back into the game, then Gambler's is a good choice.. Rates are reasonable.
For the middle of January it was worth it to get out and play. Fairways were not wet when we played.
The average rating is because the tee boxes need work as well as the rough areas. Greens were decent for this time of year. The course needs a little TLC if it want to compete with its neighbor at Cream Ridge.
A Course in Need of Help
So I understand its winter here in the northeast, but its been very mild with no snow in this part of NJ. The course was 45 dollars which is not a lot, but it needs a lot of work. The golf carts were in very poor shape and barely moved. The greens were not terrible, but the tee boxes looked like people were smashing shovels on the surface with huge gouges taken out of most boxes. The bunkers have not been touched in weeks and are washed out and in terrible shape. For a pretty full course on a day its 45 degrees, I'm guessing the course could at least send a few grounds guys out to fill divots and rake bunkers. Hanover Golf Club a few miles away is a far better value.
