Buffalo Tournament Club

Prior to playing yesterday the last time I played the course was in horrible conditions. Tall Weeds in the fairways, no definition of fairway/rough and potholes everywhere. This time around no weeds and definition was there but the potholes are still there. The course could be a top course in WNY with TLC. Great layout.

Course has improved slightly but not worth the $48. Don't care much for not being able to drive a golf cart to your vehicle to load and unload your bag. No food or drink at the turn For whatever reason .

I’ve been coming here since they have opened, I enjoy the course BUT the cart paths awful, and there are a lot of ditches on many of the fairways and no they are not part of the course as “hazards”. Also the sand traps are always hard as concrete. If these 3 things would be addressed and fixed it would easily be one of the top courses around here, esp since they are finally getting amenities.

1st time I played in 3 years.. Had 6:05 pm tee time and paid 18 hold rate . Expected at least 12 to 13 holes given the time but because so many golfers were stacked up in front of us we completed 9 by the time it got dark. Requested either a " rain" check or some or some future credit and was told that didn't exist.. Should not have to pay for 18 holes when management knew or should have known the

number of players on the course made it impossible to even complete 12 to 13 holes.. Likely will not come back unless 9 whole rates are instituted.

Priorities are messed up at this club. The club house has been being built for two years and still isn't open. You're not going to get people to come there to eat or rent the clubhouse if it's ever finished without improving the course. Some tee boxes are nonexistent. Hole signage is nowhere to be found and pace of play is awful. They need a ranger to control pace of play. Gift certifies are only able to be used at certain times so if you don't have one and desperate to play get your tee time scheduled prior to 11am so you don't get stuck behind slow people .

Where do I begin? I can only start with a metaphor to accurately describe this course. BTC is the Yings of golf courses. The coveted local bar is known for bad conditions, bad decisions, and good people. This course continuously fails to provide a good golf experience. Although some days, they have it nailed. Like when the mark the tee box markers with beer cans because there are no other markers. I know I found the blues when a pile of Michelin Ultras are symmetrical placed across the tee box. The layout can make this a premier course in WNY instead they invested money into a clubhouse that took 10 years to build and still hasn’t been opened. Expect a 5-6 hour round. You may think you’re flying the first few holes but just wait until #4. #4 always hits…just hit your top flite Tiger, it’s not that hard.

9/10 would golf again

This was our first time at this course this year. We had a 3:32 pm tee time. First, there was no 9-hole price, 18 holes only. Our first nine went well, since there was not very many people playing the back 9. However, as we transitioned to the front 9, it became disappointing. As we approached the # 1 tee, there were 3 groups waiting to tee off. 30 minutes later, we finally teed off. We waited an extra 5 minutes, so we wouldn’t be in a “hit and wait” posture. This worked for the first hole only. On # 2, we waited 15 minutes to tee off, as we watched three groups tee off ahead of us. Once we reached # 4, a situation developed where there were three groups on the tee or fairway, all waiting to take their next shots. At that point, we lost our patience and left the course. So, we paid for 18 holes, but played only 12, due to slow pace of play. The management knew that they had several groups in league play, but still insisted in charging us for 18 holes, even though it was highly unlikely that we would ever finish 18 holes. It will be a long time before we play this course again.

I love the layout and greens on this course. No problems with the course at all. Starter was very friendly and easy to deal with. Now the not-so-good. They finally got ball washers, which was good, but there was no water in them. This is the second time in a row that I saw a fivesome on the course, and the first time I have seen a SIXsome. Somebody has got to monitor that. I never see any rangers on the course., and it makes for too long of a round. For the third time this year there are no tee markers on 13 (don't understand it). I will go here every so often because I like the layout, but it's not going to be a top choice.

I have played this course on and off for a number of years. I love the layout of the course. However, the conditions seem to change significantly from one year to the next. I would say that this year is one of the better years. That being said, the cart paths continue to be bad to non-existent. On some fairways, there were random craters (yes, craters) where it appeared that meteors had struck? I have never really seen anything like it. The rough needs work. The attention that has been given to the fairways and greens is completely lost on the rough. Overall, it is a great layout, a fairly challenging course, and in fairly good condition. The price probably matches the value.

Really nothing special about the course, but the greens are decent with good speed and the price of this course is great value. I like playing here if I can’t find a tee time at one of the more premium courses around.

I golfed this course many times and until recently it has been great. Lately, management books SO MANY tee times to where pace of play is horrid. We had a 5:46 pm tee time, didn’t get to tee off until 6:05pm and there was a group of 5 in front of us which was also frustrating. Employees of the course verbatim told us that the owner just tries to get as many people in there as possible. We golfed 10 holes in 3.5 hours and that included us jumping all over the course to open holes due to 10+ minute waits at each tee box. I will NOT be golfing at this course again. This was by far the worst golfing experience I have ever had.

Not even worth my effort to write a long review on my experience. I’ll keep it short. Could be a very nice course. Seems to be completely mismanaged. The experience was almost laughable. Please stop giving places like this our business and go elsewhere!!!!! If you do go and you read all these reviews you will be kicking yourself in the butt for not listening. If you have the unfortunate responsibility to book tee times for a group of people prepare to defend yourself afterwards about your choice. I know I had to. I will never return……ever

I’ve played just about every course in the area. I wish I would've chosen anywhere else as they were not ready to open. They couldn’t even drive around and throw a set of tees out on the course. It’s the spring so the course is expected to still be a little wet, understandable. Greens were in awful shape. If you’re already willing to drive out to BTC, go a little further and get some value for your money at Ivy Ridge, Fox Valley Club (literally across the street), Rothland, etc. so many options where they will minimally go out and set some tees up.

I’ve Played here plenty of times before but it was the first time this year. I’ve never played a course that couldn’t put tee markers out. The tee boxes weren’t cut or rolled. The course was wet as expected but there probably should have been a cart path only or 90 degree rule in place. Greens were slower than usual and didn’t look like they had been cut as they should. Not worth the $42 round in my opinion. Maybe in a few weeks if it dries out. The lack of tee markers boggles my mind.

Firstly, the pace of play is absolutely horrific. A Marshall needs I be observing the play. They had a starter for no reason. Players in front of us had 2 empty holes in front of them. Unacceptable.

No food or beverages. Water should be provided on the course. Missing out on tons of money with no cart girl.

The layout was fine.

Tee boxes were terrible.

Greens were not rolled. Grain was growing in all directions. Surprising there were no pitch marks. But on the other hand, the quality of golfers was epically poor.

Wont be back.

It's early, but just simple things such as tee box markers so you know where blue/white tees are.

The tees themselves appear as if they're fairway.

A great layout but the experience could be so much more with just the minimum amount of TLC applied.

The recommendation to a friend is based upon them getting the course in better shape.

I played this course on 4/23/22. While it is expected that spring golf will not have ideal conditions, this was far worse than i would be willing to endure.

The cartpath was riddled with potholes and closed in some portions, the entire course was super soggy and muddy, greens were incredibly slow compared to a couple of years ago.

The most annoying part to me is that no one even bothered to put a single set of tee markers out there. If you can put the flags up, at least have the decency to put the tee markers. Its a shame to see the course in these conditions

I run a group of 40 golfers. At the time we last played BTC we were only 28 golfers. We used to play at least twice a year for at least the last 10 years. Management knew us very well. When attempting to book a couple of dates for the upcoming year, I was told we needed to secure our tee times with a credit card because we were a large group. Since we were not a new group to them and not having any problem in the past I felt that was not necessary. They refused to accept the booking in any other way. Also, the 3 year club house project was still not completed. Half-way house was always closed. This course gets a 1 star rating.

BTC has the potential to be a wonderful course. Its layout makes it a nice track and many holes are challenging without being punitive for the average player. But, the course itself suffers from poor maintenance. I used to play it as my regular course, but I now go elsewhere. I played it once in 2021. There were giant gouges on some of the holes and the greens were a bit beaten up. There is no clubhouse and the snack bar at the turn is still closed. This could be a really great course, but the money doesn’t seem to be there to make the necessary improvements.
