Good fairways
Most of the fairways were roped off. Not sure if it's to protect them from carts or because it was going to rain in the evening. But they also have new dirt cart paths so you can access your ball from dirt path on one side or paved path on the other.
Some early hole greens still recovering from aeration 3 weeks ago. Hilly course but walkable. Many par 3s at the end.
Ridiculous price
I understand that golf course prices have gone up even more so with current inflation. However, 55 for a single walking plus 7.49 reservation fee and 20 extra for golf cart totaling 82.49 for a public course with 5 par 3s is so ridiculous. I grew up playing this course but my god it’s so expensive. You can’t even book on the original site anymore. Furthermore, the only reservations you can make on the site is for 9 holes and they include a cart totaling 30 something. It’s beyond absurd what the management is doing. Horrible
So much for a reservations
Arrived 15 minutes before my 6:21 reservation but the starter already gave my spot to another single then lied about it. The next group was a foursome so I had to go out by myself. Very disappointing…
Great Spring weather, bad choice of a golf course
I don’t understand why TeeOff did NOT notify that their greens were just recently aerated. Terrible overall experience solely because of the greens’ conditions. We would NOT have gone to Douglaston to play if TeeOff had notified us of the aeration status.
Good early spring conditions
Greens aerated but overall look in great shape
Sand traps rough due to recent rain and lots of unrepaired divots on the fairway and heavy wear from cart traffic
Layout heavy on par 3’s with lots of hills and some blind shots
Walked course in 3 1/2 hrs
Airification alert. At least greens will need a month to be normal.
Air rating this week , put a damper on it , years ago u would get a discount . Other wise a very nice course.
