course
should be little discount did not know green was aerated
The course condition was terrible. If I knew how bad it was I would never have plaid for it. There was not one green that was reasonably kept and the crew kept blowing sand off the greens. I could barely find a green spot to hit from the fairway. I cannot believe they actually would take money for this course.
April 10, 2020 - AVOID PLAYING HERE NOW
Greens are being aerated. I understand that this is necessary from time to time but you're still paying full price + $21 to use a cart to hit your ball on the green and then play the putting version of plinko.
With that said - the larger issues is how it's absurd there isn't a indicator on this app to note when a course is areating the greens. A user should know this before spending their money on a subpar experience.
The course is Terrible
The T boxes are a disgrace. Cut up and mostly dirt. Hard to get a footing for driving.
Fairways are fair to poor.
Greens are awful. Should have been air rated before now.
The help wanders all over the course without masks and are a complete distraction while trying to play.
Almost total disrespect for the golfers. We pay to play. And the return is bad.
I’ve played this course since I was 11 years old. I’m 69 now and it’s in the worst shape ever.
I would not recommend it to anyone and those who run it should fired and ashamed of themselves.
Slow Start, Great Finish
Please check to see if the weather is near freezing the night before. Otherwise you will most likely have frost delay and be held up for 30 mins to an hour. Honestly it's out of the hands of the course and just nature itself.
So as usual, came 15 mins early. There was a frost delay but again, it's not due to the course itself. Just the weather. We we were delayed about 1.5 hrs but honestly, it wasn't that bad chatting it up with friends and watching.
Love the front 9, Back 9 is challenging but the 18th is always the cherry on top
March Warm Up
This is probably my top 3 favorite courses in NYC. I play regularly, about once every week or every 2 weeks. I play mornings as I work in the evenings so my reviews are morning play.
Morning Tee's start off brisk but after the 4th hole, you're warmed up.
Never had an issue with anything. Just get there EARLY because you don't want to be a shmutz and hold things up. I'd say walk in 15-20 mins before your tee-time to get your cart, stretch, etc. So plan to get there 20 mins before your tee time at the minimum..
Make sure to sign in and be ready to go. Don't be that guy that holds it up.
Covid regulations are nicely followed and I just really enjoy the course. Back 9 is a bit harder with some dog legs and blind hills.
