Slow Start, Great Finish
Please check to see if the weather is near freezing the night before. Otherwise you will most likely have frost delay and be held up for 30 mins to an hour. Honestly it's out of the hands of the course and just nature itself.
So as usual, came 15 mins early. There was a frost delay but again, it's not due to the course itself. Just the weather. We we were delayed about 1.5 hrs but honestly, it wasn't that bad chatting it up with friends and watching.
Love the front 9, Back 9 is challenging but the 18th is always the cherry on top
March Warm Up
This is probably my top 3 favorite courses in NYC. I play regularly, about once every week or every 2 weeks. I play mornings as I work in the evenings so my reviews are morning play.
Morning Tee's start off brisk but after the 4th hole, you're warmed up.
Never had an issue with anything. Just get there EARLY because you don't want to be a shmutz and hold things up. I'd say walk in 15-20 mins before your tee-time to get your cart, stretch, etc. So plan to get there 20 mins before your tee time at the minimum..
Make sure to sign in and be ready to go. Don't be that guy that holds it up.
Covid regulations are nicely followed and I just really enjoy the course. Back 9 is a bit harder with some dog legs and blind hills.
Simply good course
Due to cold weather the course isn’t ready for the public golfer, however it’s still decent condition well managed greens.
Good course for somewhere in queens
This course has a lot of par 4s. Nice long easy course to play if you know where the holes are. Hills make it difficult to see where the hole is but trust your shot and distance and you will be fine.
Old Faithful
Listen, you’re not playing Deepdale or the creek.... It’s Douglaston. The course is in great shape the pace is slow but I only live 3 miles from here and it’s a godsend to have it. The people are super nice and are extremely helpful. No matter what shape it’s in I will continue to play Douglaston, And do so very happily
