Had the course to
Myself. Rain scared all away. Course
In great shape for February/ March. A lot
Of elevation changes if that is what you like? Greens slow but it’s February. Fairways in good shape
Forget about the back 9
The front 9 has a good layout but the back 9, don’t bother playing it. Too many par 3’s, and three stacked together?! Course lack maintenance, greens with ball marks, tee boxes have no grass, fairways with cracks made by rain/snow. Overall, the front 9 is good, the back 9 has bad layout and really lack maintenance.
Yes, but...
Play this course with the full knowledge that you are playing it for convenience and not a destination wow experience. Sixty bucks could be better spent elsewhere, but you have to drive away from the proximity of 8 million people living cheek to jowl. Granted it was a Sunday morning, but it was January with winter conditions. And the City of New York still had the chutzpah to charge for parking on top of that.
The clubhouse looks like it’s about to collapse and the grill room is a greasy spoon.
The course is a blend of blah and huh, interesting holes. Plus stars for about 9 holes that take the topography into consideration. Big minus for having 3 completely bland par 3s on 15,16,and 17. Not the way you want to finish a match, like you are on an executive course. Not for sixty bucks. I’ll come back, but only at a twilight rate.
Great course
I really like this course. It is normally very well maintained although some tee boxes need some maintenance. Very good value for the money but sometimes gets really packed.
Pace of play is absurd
Why even pay a ranger? I’ve played there like 5 or 6 times each either skipping holes or leaving early. 6 hour rounds are nonsense. You have Rangers there and they do absolutely nothing but monitor the blind 15th hole once in a blue moon. Plus you have to pay to park? Who does that?
Clubhouse
clubhiuse kitchen is open up to 5:30pm. So after that only small chips packages are available.
Great course
Course was in good condition, pace was good. Teed off :30 minutes after registered tee time but good day overall
