Great Course
Great linked style course. Very tough grass if youre off fairway. But well manucured, great layout and overall very good course. Sometime gets a little jammed up though so you could be waiting on a few holes.

Rangers need to be more active
The pace of play at Mill pond is horrendous, played 1 week ago and had to leave after 15 holes. 9 holes took approximately 3 and a half hours. The Rangers do absolutely nothing to even try to improve this, it got to the point in which the group in front of us nearly got into a physical altercation with the group in front of them.
Today I thought it couldn’t be the same, I arrived and the parking lot wasn’t busy and not many people at the driving range, typically good signs that a quick round was ahead...I was wrong. While it wasn’t as bad as my previous round my group got through 16 holes before sunset. Mind you our tee time was a late afternoon weekday on any other course I’d expect to finish and be home before dark, the GPS cart said we were 40 mins behind the pace while waiting at every tee box approximately 5-10 mins.
This could be one of the nicer Suffolk county tracks, but the pace of play and the maintenance of the bunkers (more rocks and pebbles than actual sand) defeats that opportunity.
PS: I was told today that they’re no longer doing single riders, I guess Covid is no longer serious. If you want to be a single rider you must pay extra!
Hi u924927243. Thanks for coming out to Mill Pond. Covid-19 and all that it entails has also created a large demand for Golf. We do our best to manage pace of play including GPS monitoring. We have found an uptick in new golfers that like to play in the afternoon and evening which sometimes causes slower play. We recommend better golfers come earlier in the day as we typically play sub-4 hour rounds in the am. Hopefully you will give us another chance when the Tee Sheet is a little less busy. Great conditions, Great Value
Green conditions were excellent. Staff was very friendly. Electric carts were well maintained and very quiet. Length of holes was good for an intermediate golfer and if more challenge needed, the blue tees are plenty long. Some fescue on the sides make for a few lost balls. I would high recommend this course.

Slow greens
Slow greens. The course in general was in very good condition except the greens were very fuzzy and slow. The bunkers also need a lot of attention. They have not been sanded and there are a lot of stones and pebbles in them. Other than that the course was in nice shape.

Great course
Golf cart yardage stopped working after the front 9 but other than that it was top 3 courses I have ever played.

The course was in excellent condition, got out on time , pace of play allowed us to finish just under 4 hours . Can’t wait to play it again .

Terrific
Lovely 18 hole layout. Challenging course, but not too difficult so it makes for an enjoyable round. Beautiful greens that rolled true.. Sand traps were in good condition for a public course.. Decent bang for the buck if you are not an out of towner. Will play again.

Excellent Place to Play
Great course , great staff, moves quick.... but for 81.00 GPS wasn't working. Swapped out the cart once and it still wasn't working.....

Nice course, but HOW ABOUT SOME WATER????
I've played here many times before. But while playing on one of the hottest days of the year, we weren't allowed to carry our own water in a cooler. This, in my opinion, should be illegal. You can't count on the beverage cart, since it appears infrequently and may not be around when you decide to collapse from heat stroke. Bad on you, Mill Pond; this is a terrible policy, and is especially bad during the COVID crisis when many of us are hesitant to handle bottles of unknown origin. For this reason alone, I don't recommend the course.

Management
They threw away items left in cart and manager said he would make it right. Never heard from him again. It’s been over a month since the loss. All I want is some communication. I have been playing there almost every week fo 20 plus years and would like some consideration. The outside staff is great but the manager is far from that
No senior discount
Due to COVID-19, Mill Pond has decided to not honor their senior discount that has been in place for many years. Sad. I won't go back until the discount returns.
