My favorite hole ! Photo submitted by Golfworld on 10/28/2019
Nice Course, Slow Play
Course is in good shape, nice layout with some interesting holes. Almost 6 hr round is unacceptable but seems common here.
Mill Pond Dissapointment
very disappointing for the money paid. We left after 12 holes because of the pace of play. Played with my daughter, not good
Mill Pond
Course was in excellent shape and we finished our round in less than 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and although the price was discounted, it was by far worth it.
Nice Muny
The course was in very good condition. The greens were fast and the tee boxes had grass, something some other courses cannot say,and the rough was a little high.Pace of play was great because I was the first out fter an outting.I would come back and play this course again.
mill pond features.
The course was in very good shape, the greens were also good, but the bunkers were not rank The lunch was good no problem at all.
Better than before
We had a great time. From the time we were greeted at the club drop off till we left the staff were great! Course was is excellent condition . Layout was fair. Difinately coming back!
Fun Links-style Layout
Fun layout, each hole is unique. Greens were fuzzy and I all bumpy, could have been rolled and cut.
Not too long, links style, challenging
Beautiful layout, reasonable price, terrific condition, unbearably slow greens. Never did get used to the very slow greens, but enjoyed the round
Beware The Outing
Played Mill Pond the other day and my friend and I were enjoying a beautiful day and good round of golf until the 14th hole. That's when the ranger shows up. Our pace of play was just behind the group in front of us and about a hole in front of the group behind. Roughly on pace for 4 hours or the expected pace for the course. Well, someone must have forgotten that they had a 12:30 shotgun outing scheduled for the day and allowed GolfNow to book tee times up until 9:04. We had the 8:56 and tee'd off around 9 but were now expected to pick up the pace of play. Which the ranger never said to us but got the info from the group in front in the parking lot after the round. Over the final four holes we had balls hit up on us and felt rushed to finish. No one ever came out and apologized for the mix up or the inconvenience that it caused us.
Treat to play a links style course
Course was in excellent shape after a lot of rain., a bit short, greens were true and soft, a nice treat to play a links style course
enjoyable course to play
price was good when booked through golf now. Greens had been aerated and had not come fully back so putting was an adventure. Have played the course many times and must say that it is usually in excellent shape. Has one of the better driving ranges in the area with clearly marked distances. Practice tees are mats but are in excellent shape. Pleasant experience playing this course.
Get to work in the greens
Course overall great shape! Fairways, bunkers excelent!! However the greens were horrendous ! Plugged, barely too dressed and not rolled! Not a great scoring round! But, play this course! Tough but fair !
Condition of greens!
We played Mill Pond on Sunday and the greens were horrible. Putting in the parking lot would have been better. There were no indications of these conditions when booking through GolfNow. When we asked the staff about these conditions, they became extremely defensive and barked, "it says it on our web site." Mill Pond is certainly not a value at $75 even in their best condition. There are way too many courses on Long Island to tolerate these conditions and lack of understanding by their staff.
Mill Pond
Course is in great condition for April! Nice layout and speed of play was great!
VERY SLOW GREENS !!!
Decent round on fairly nice conditions except the greens, which were perfectly grown in , were not cut and were painfully slow.
The cups had not been cut in today either which was not a problem because it was impossible to get the ball there. I'll be back when the lawn mowers are repaired.
Cold & Windy But Better Than Work
Just An Average Links Style Course. Nothing Memorable. Good For A Loop.
Played 18 Holes, 2 Golfers for $50 via LastMinuteGolfer.com, making the High Winds & Cold bearable. Finished The ThreeSome Round in 3 Hours & Played Another 9 in 1 1/2 Hours. (Nobody Was Out Playing Anywhere In Sight)
Entered The Clubhouse @ 5pm for a Beer & It Was Closed making This A One & Done Stop For Me. Enjoyed Once For A Good Rate.
Pace was Slow
I always like playing this course. However this day was brutal. The pace was a crawl as it took 3 1/2 hours to play 11 holes. We quit after that.........<smh>
Course has a nice layout.
The Staff was friendly and the course was in good condition considering the time of year. Would definitely play again.
