My favorite hole ! Photo submitted by Golfworld on 10/28/2019
Great Value
The course couldn't have been in better condition for the end of November. The tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape. The staff was extremely pleasant.
No complaints. Will be back.
Ted
I love this course. It is pretty, the staff is nice and the starter is honest. My buddy and I showed up and we play at a quick pace. The starter told us right off the bat to just skip a group that would slow us down. We tee'd off on one when they were on four, we caught them on 6! They were very slow but the heads up allowed us to skip them without feeling badly. I always have had good experiences here.
Really great shape
Beautiful day. Aside from the greens which were still recovering from aeration a few weeks ago the course was in wonderful condition.
Very satisfied
Course is awesome. HOWEVER , my only gripe is that they dont tell that their aerating. I always call anyway. Burgers are gooood. I have always said that during aeration price should be discounted. Overall course is one of the best in suffolk.
Aeration- not known
Course was in excellent condition, Except the course Greens had just been aerated; and it was NOT noted on Golf Now. That just is NOT right. Fairways were mint. Staff was super nice.
Mill pond golf course
Let me start out by saying WOW what a course first time playing but by no means my last even if I had to pay the full price and not the discounted golfnow rates I would play here again and again great tee boxes great fairways and great greens from the moment I pulled up and was greeted by the gentlemen who took my clubs and loaded them onto my cart to the last hole played was a great experiance.
Nice course and even nicer people.
What a lovely course. From the moment we parked we encountered friendly, informative staff. We got some ligh-hearted ribbing from some course regulars then we were off even before our teetime. The course was beautiful and varied; lots of choices off the tee. Some water in play, but nothing too intimidating or difficult enough to slow play. The course was well maintained; the greens were obviously played all summer, but held there pace and the ball rolled well. The green complexes themselves large and tricky but fair. Great views all over the course. After the round we got lunch and 2 for 1 pints of Bud. A lovely day and a lovely course.
One of nicest on long Island
I've played this course many times and never tire of it. The conditions there are consistently good. Pace of play was ok today. Staff is always friendly.
Very Nice Course
Very Nice Course. Fairways are very well manicured and the greens are well maintained. I will most definitely be playing golf there again.
Great Municipal Course
If I didn't already know, I never would have guessed this was a Town of Brookhaven golf course. It's up there with the best privately owned courses.
Awesome course
From scenic holes that are in fantastic shape, to spot on accurate GPS carts, it was an all around great experience & I'm looking forward to playing there again very soon
SLOW
Paid to play 18, but after a 3 hours we only finished 9 holes. Double waits at each tee and the four young guys in front were still hitting multiple tee shots until they got the one they wanted. Ranger was useless; he never said anything to them. We complained at the pro shop and got vouchers for the value of the back nine which we can use toward another round. Thankfully, The pro shop was nice about it.
excellent staff
greeted in the early AM by an extremely helpful staff member who was a genuine plus for the course. as were the other staff members we ran into
Slowest/Most overbooked course in Suffolk
I have played this course for years and it has always been slow but this summer they are clearly overbooking daily without any attempts to monitor pace of play. I played on July 3rd and there was a 1 hour delay from scheduled tee times (golfers were directed to go buy balls at the range, they could've at least offered players a free bucket for the hour wait). The course played 6 hours that day. I vowed to not play there again, and should've heeded my own advice. A friend asked if I'd like to play there today and I agreed, I tried to chalk the last time up to it being a holiday weekend, but that was not the case. After a 20 minute delay we teed off. There were multiple foursomes( at least three) on EVERY hole. I called the ranger and he simply drove past. After a 3 hour front 9 we pulled up to the 10th tee were three foursomes had yet to tee off. Never in my life have I cut a round short but we both couldn't bear another 20-30 minute wait to hit and we left. I will NEVER play this course again. I would advise you play somewhere else unless you don't mind a 6 hour round with 20 minute waits at the tee boxes. It is greedy and in poor taste to overbook your course this badly with no concern for pace of play, and after three rounds with this same experience it's safe to say that is the norm for Mill Pond Golf Course.
Mill Pond Golf
Great price for a mid week quick find on Golf Now.
Can't find too many courses on Long Island that was able to offer such a good valve for an early afternoon round before 2 PM.
Always well kept
Still one of my favorite courses on Long Island, always clean, friendly and helpful staff and not overly difficult for a links course. You need to keep the ball in the fairway in order to avoid difficult fescue. The fairways and greens were in great shape but the bunkers had way too many rocks and not sandy enough. Not difficult to get to from anywhere on long island and you can usually get a T time.
This course is very, very good. Highly recommended.
I haven't played this course since the Town of Brookhaven took over management. I was extremely pleased and surprised that the course was in excellent condition. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Played on a weekday and played in 4 hours! Great course. Will definitely play again.
Fescue Fun!
This course was in almost immaculate condition. Fairways and greens were perfect. The fescue made you pay the price for hitting off target, but found every ball I hit in there. The only minor issue I found later in the round was that the sand traps had plenty of rocks in them. The beverage cart came around 6 times on a hot day which was fantastic. The food at the grill room was delicious. Facilities inside looked too notch. I would definitely recommend and would like to play there again even though it's 45 minutes from me.
have to be in the fairway!
With high rough and very tall grass, have to hit the ball straight, still very enjoyable day of golf. Have not played course in several years, I liked how they improved the speed of play.
Let er' rip!! Wide open
Great layout !! Fun course!! Golfnow deal $37 for a round!! W/ cart n gps!! Cmon, what a steal!
