Diseased greens
Course is tight but short. However the biggest issue is there is some sort of disease or fungus that killed a good amount of grass on the greens. If this wasn’t there the greens would be great but on almost every hole it got in the way of someone putting in our group. The review would be higher rating without that.

Could have been better
Pace of play was very slow, felt they might have overbooked but that is typical for 2020. Greens were worn and stressed from some fungus apparently. Took very long nearly 5 hours to finish. I had trouble playing with very tight fairways and hard fast greens. Trees are all over the layout hence :The Woods" I usually play across the street at Links where it is more wide open and forgiving. If you cannot hit it straight especially on teeshots this course is not for you. Narrowest fairways I've ever played.

Can’t Complain
Aside from a couple of greens having brown dead spots (it’s really not that big of a deal since it’s been so hot on the island), the course was in great shape.
The lady in the pro shop was friendly, the starter was really friendly and made sure that my friends and I brought sufficient hydration with us and lady in the halfway house was so nice that I felt like I was talking to my grandma.
I mean...I shot 76 so I really can’t complain, right?

There are better courses
Green were not in good shape. They were bumpy and had dirt patches all over them. For $70 with cart, it was not worth it.

Course after the storm
Played early and cours was not ready for play. Downed trees and branches in cart paths, bunkers and off fairway areas. Sent my group out behind a mother and 3 young children, learning to play. Groups in front were oldtimets playing at snail's pace. Have enjoyed this place previously but it seems like maintainenc crews are short staffed and rangers non existent.

What happened to the greens?
Nice layout but the condition of these greens was a turn off, probably the worse ones I have seen and I play all over Nassau and Suffolk. Additionally what is up with the no cooler policy? especially in this heat, how can you tell people to not bring their own drinks to stay hydrated?

This course is in great shape.
This course is in great shape. Playing from the senior tees with an average age of 72, we had a great time. Course was fair and set up in different ways using water and sand ( Sand was great to hear out of ). Some nice 300 yard par fours to help you lower your score. Great price for the value. Only negative is there is no driving range. You have to go across the street to Cherry Creek. There is a chipping putting and sand trap area.

Fix your ball marks!!!
I have played this course many times and genuinely love the layout and the usual upkeep. This time out I was shocked to see the greens not only filled with unfixed ball marks, but also have huge dead patches on multiple greens. It’s a shame that the course has fallen to this state, as it’s an awesome layout and far superior to its sister course across the street

Great long course. Well maintained
Well kept, great play and staff,BUT 20 bucks for a cart per person is steep,and walking 6k yards during the summer heat is undoable.

Course true to it’s name
Trees trees & more trees. Fairways great shape. Greens faster than you think. Receptive to shot, drop & stop little to no rollout. Give superintendent 5 stars for shape of greens, 1 star to golfers for not repairing the ball marks. Difficult to stay out of woods if you don’t hit it straight.

Hot no rain summer taking its toll
This course always does their best to keep in pristine condition. By no fault of their own the greens and surrounding fringe are getting a little beat up. This due to the hot and dry conditions. Idiots that don't fix their ball marks doesn't help.. Still a fun track to play

The Woods revisited
Hadn't played this course in a number of years and had an enjoyable round on a course that rewards keeping the ball in the fairway. We be playing this course again in near future
