Hit it straight
Every thing was in great shape had some Tuff Pin Placements hooked up with 3 guys Who were Out in the Hamptons all good Guys had.a lot of fun its a Tight Track hit alot of 3 woods will play again soon
nice course
pace was good considering holiday weekend nice staff great food.
Nice course
Narrow fairways, so hit the ball straight. Challenging greens. Will definitely return.
great conditions
Excellent conditions and friendly staff. Course was jammed which resulted in very slow play. Got paired up with a very nice couple so it was a most enjoyable round. Thought they should have come around and empty garbage receptacles throughout the day as it was messy. Also cart girl was nowhere to be found until 17th hole. Overall we enjoyed it and will return
Nice Track
I enjoyed the course> It was tight on some holes and the par 4s on the back nine were long. Staff was great. I will return.
Excellent condition
Having thought we booked our tee time at the Links Course, we were surprised and a little disappointed when we were told the reservation was at The Woods. At the end of the day I was no longer disappointed. The course was very challenging and in great shape. If you are looking for an excellent value and very challenging golf course, this is the place to play. Bring your straight game otherwise be prepared to play from the woods on your second shot on many holes.
Tight, with good greens
Although I have played this course previously, I didn't want to drive an hour to play. However, scattered showers were forecasted and gn had it for $19! Couldn't pass it up. My buddy and I played in 3 hrs ( we had the course to ourselves). The greens were the best we had played on this year on LI. Super had roped off many areas were carts have worn away grass from those who have to taken carts next to greens. This has improved the ecstatics and the playability of the course. Will have to get back there again SOON.
Super narrow
The course is beautiful. The greens are well kept however the the fairways were a little long. Probably didn't cut them yet. Not a lot of rough either, which sounds good but that's because most of the holes are super narrow. Trees align the holes so accuracy is key.
Better than expected
Have played this course numerous times and has kind of been hit or miss on the conditions. After coming off a brutal winter I was not expecting too much, however I was pleasantly surprised at the condition it was in. Greens were rolling nicely , and fairways overall were pretty good, with the exception of some left over stray leaves. Would definitely give it a go again in the near future.
Leave it alone
course had leaves covering the fairways making it very difficult to find good drives. Advice was don t be married to your ball , from starter. The price was not worth the aggeravation looking for balls all day long. 30 dollars to play another 30 for a dozen balls . Their sister course across the street had much better maintence.
golf was in bad shape
The leaves on the course was unacceptable. There has been nothing done as far as maintaining the course in weeks. There were tire tracks on the first 6 greens, no tee markers, no ball washers, and the course was not woth the discounted rate which we paid. We will not be going back there any time soon.
Staff is rude!!
I've played here many times before but I won't be going back. The course was covered in leaves making it almost impossible to find the ball even in the fairway. After 3 hours on the course the pro comes out to the 15th fairway and tells us we have to have the cart back by 3 o'clock. This was never mentioned when I was paying my green fees to the same guy. On the 16th hole the cart dies. The same guy comes out in a cart and tells us we have to walk the rest of the round if we want to pay all 18. I asked him for the cart he was driving and he said no. It was obvious he just wanted to go home early. There are many golf courses in that area so I will not be going back to cherry creek.
Great Course
Great conditions: tee boxes, fairways and greens. Great staff
Not bad but really slow play
Course was in nice shape but the fairways needed mowing. We waited on every hole and often had 3, sometimes 4, groups on a hole. This was a Saturday and we never saw a ranger. Better hit the ball straight because every hole is tree-lined.
Poor Architecture
As a 2 handicapper, I have been playing golf for 30 years and I can honestly say the architects had a beautiful piece of property to work with and really screwed it up. Traps located 275 plus off the tee????
Handicap of holes needs to be revamped by USGA.
They had 2 ranger carts and we never saw one which was badly needed....Save your money and go somewhere else. Unfortunately on L.I. most good courses are private. The links next door is a bigger joke with a 630 yd. par 6....Hello a par 6....I have played longer par 5's......These are not REAL golf courses....4some on 6th tee went to halfway house and spent 15 mins there, holding up play for everyone.....r u kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!
review
Course in great shape from tee to green. You need to use all your clubs to play this golf course. Start time was accurate. Played eighteen holes in 4 hours and 30 minutes. I will play this course again and soon.
good course friendly people
good time for the price, good carts with GPS, good staff
Nice tight course
Having played the links last week came out again to play the woods. course in great condition so don't understand why back 9 cart path only enjoyed the round but prefer the inks
all and all a solid track
Many narrow fairways to challenge your ability to control the flight of your shots. The greens are on the larger size overall, which made them very forgiving if you go a bit wide of your target. They also were very soft and receptive. That leads me to one of the only negative things I have to say about the course. Despite the greens being very receptive to your approach they also roll super slow. The only other complaint I have is that a fair amount of tees were very soft and chewed up. At the end of the day though it was a very enjoyable course to play and I would recommend it to anybody who was thinking of playing it.
A hidden gem
the woods is a well maintained golf course with narrow enough fairways to make every tee shot an event. well maintained with manageable greens it is a course that is suitable for most handi caps, although high handicappers might lose fewer balls across the way at its sister course the links. this course attracts golfers from NoFo , Hamptons and even Nassau county due to its fine play and welcoming staff. I have played it many times and will continue to keep it in the rotation.
