Cherry Creek - The Woods Course

Although affiliated with Links course across the street, the course is very different in style.

Woods has practice green and a club house, but you need to go to the driving range at the Links course to warm up.

As the name suggests, the course has many trees that seem to overhang already narrow fairways, and places premium on straight shots. Any wind will further complicate the matter.

The course was little bit beat up and greens bit slow, but the layout was interesting enough and a pleasant experience overall.

Course is challenging, but pace of play was very slow. Course was still recovering from greens being aerated.

I always enjoy playing here. There's just something about this course that fits me. I can't put my finger on the exact reason. Maybe it's the layout, the course conditions, the mix of water and narrow fairways with beautiful scenery. I think the friendly staff adds alot to the overall experience but there's just a certain "vibe" that this course has that I really like.Even after they aerated the greens it was still one of the most pleasant rounds I played this year !

The Woods at Cherry Creek is the sister course to the Links at Cherry Creek, across the street. The Woods is aptly named for its tree-lined fairways, but despite the abundant shade the fairways and greens were in superb condition when we played in August. The course is scenic, challenging, but very playable. The course is generous to beginning and intermediate fairways because of the wide fairways, reachable from the intermediate tees without the endless carries that you sometimes see on courses these days. Great place to play and enjoy a round.

I played this course early on a Friday morning. We went out as a twosome and played in 3.5 hours. I play this course at least once a year and it never disappoints.

The staff is friendly and attentive. Carts are ready and clean. One downside is driving range is across the road.

The course design/layout is great. A good mix of doglegs, straight, long, short, uphill and downhill holes. Water is in play on some of the holes other holes have tress overhanging near greens or on corner of approach shots BUT it is called the WOODS! If you are not straight, don't break out that new sleeve of balls.

In my opinion, this course has more character than its older sibling across the road. It is a must play at least once a year. I wish it was closer to home.

Golf now had $27 on a Monday at 11:30, got done with 1 other person in a little over 3 hours. It was overcast with chance of rain so the course was pretty empty. Played from the tips had some 470+ par 4's with the narrow fairways made it very difficult. If you're not straight bring a couple sleeves of balls. Course was in pretty good shape and with the wetness greens held well. Definitely play this over the course across the street if you can.

Had a great time very friendly people. The only problem was the round was too long.

The course was well maintained.There are many interesting hole layouts. Greens were OK. Great value. I will play the course again

Very enjoyable course in great shape would really recomend that course is played!

When you play in 4 hrs 15 minutes, i don't believe that you should be spoken to for slow play.

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who addressed us by name. The clubhouse was attractive and busy. The course was meticulously maintained. The fairways were challenging for those who do not have straight drives as many are lined with trees. The greens were well groomed and many were elevated. Nice water holes and some of the ponds had beautiful coy fish. The sand traps were well laid out and perfectly groomed. Saw a few deer on the course, which made for a really picturesque setting. I would definitely recommend the course and hope to return soon.

I HAVE PLAYED THIS COURSE IN THE PAST, AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY NICE. THIS TIME IT WAS NOT IN THE BEST OF SHAPE. CONCIDERING THE WEATHER HAS NOT BEEN GOOD YET IS PROBLY A REASON. THE FAIRWAYS WERE NOT CUT, THE GREENS WERE VERY SLOW {EVEN DOWN HILL PUTTS WOULD NOT GET TO THE HOLE}. I AM HOPING THIS WAS A ONE TIME THING, BECAUSE THE COURSE HAS ALWAYS BEEN NICE AND ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I WIIL STILL BE BACK TO CHECK IT OUT AGAIN.
