San Carlos Golf Club

Pace of play on front 9 very slow. Then 1 or 2 groups in front of us dropped out or skipped a hole. Back 9 pace was fine but ranger told us to pick it up when we were actually on time and had been waiting all front 9. Go figure. Course is friendly except for 2 doglegs. Second one causes pace to slow down. Prices are crazy but SE Florida is what it is.

The course was in better condition than a year ago when we played it. Greens were great not lightning but not slow. Fairways were decent for SWFL course which are usually thin. Bunkers were good and tee blocks were good as not many play the Blues. Got a Hot Deal so price was good, not worth the full price of over $100

A nice course but they have issues with pace of play there. On one hole there was four groups waiting! The carts are equipped with a pace of play reminder but slow play sometimes needs marshalling.

The rate of play was awful. On a par 3 on the front we had 4 foursomes backed up . Too almost 20-25 minuets to tee off. Again this time on a par 5 on the back we had three foursomes backed up backed up . Took 15-20 minuets to tee off. The ranger was around on both holes and did nothing. For the price of each round $147 incl tax I would expect better.

We teed off at 3pm, apparently they were done at 4 luckily we were staying at a house on the course and the wives passed us a couple beers through the fence

We didn’t know what to expect, but we were very surprised by the quality of this course ; greens and fairways are well maintained. I’ll be back for sure.

Beautiful afternoon for golf, even though dark caught us after 14 holes. We did play our favorite, the double dogleg par 5 14th. Overall a fun course and greens were excellent.

Not a challenging layout. Not up to date amenities. Staff was good but they are working with what they have. Definitely not worth the oir price. Take your round elsewhere.
