San Carlos Golf Club

The course was just okay. It was not aesthetically pleasing at all. There was an aqua driving range.

The greens were in moderate condition.

The pro shop had a good selection of merchandise.

There was a course ranger that carefully monitored pace of play. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Took over 5 hr, agonizing!

Not worth the $98 cost.

Nice and challenging enough for a snowbird’s first round in almost 3 months.

Thought we would try San Carlos GC after reading reviews. As a 1 hdcp I can tolerate poor tee boxes, poor fairways, even slightly slow play, but not Terrible greens and a lousy course layout.

The greens were awful, no grass, spotty, worn out from so much play, fairways not much grass, and a 2hr & 45 min front nine, teed off at 3:15 went back onto the front nine to get a few more holes in before dark and got 5 holes done in 20 min. Save your money not worth it, play Fort Myers CC or Eastwood GC much better condition with real golfers and not members that hit it 40 yds at a time.

Very well kept course, but the slow play is an issue. As long as you’re ok with slow play and the fact that the course marshals won’t do anything about it, you’ll have a good time.

We enjoyed our round and will be playing there again soon. Staff was friendly and helpful weather .

Way overbook , people constantly hitting on your hole, slow pace 20 minutes plus a hole , course is like hitting on concrete , The staff were very friendly and attentive

and cut off rate, we were disappointed with the pace of play. Tee time 2:30 played to 5:45 played 12 holes

You would expect to almost finish in four hours but we required to return the carts to the clubhouse half hour before sunset. With the slow play( the bozos in front of us taking second drives while there was two groups of 4 waiting at the tee. This happened more than once. But this FL in season, will play earlier and pay more

I have played San Carlos over a dozen times in the last couple of years. They have made some great improvements last year adding some bunkers, re-working existing bunkers and adding plants and trees. This week the rate of play was typical, 1:55 for the first nine holes, a 5-minute break at the turn, and 1:50 for the back nine. One of the marshals was driving around for a bit on the back and at hole 13 told us to speed it up for some reason. There was no-one pushing us. My wife is very self-conscious about holding people up so she sat out hole 13 despite me telling her that there was no issue. So we finished hole 13 a couple of minutes faster only to reach hole 14 with the golfers in front of us on the T-box. So being rushed for nothing. I will go back to San Carlos again, but it will be a while.

Above the Mendoza line on quality, but like everything else in this area a little overpriced. But, I guess that’s what the market will bear!

Pace a little slow but view on hole 12 made up for it (frat party house). Good variety of challenges on holes. Good value for the money.

Beautiful day and paired with 2 beautiful women. Pace a little slow but didn’t care. Nice frat party on back 9 on weekends. Nicer courses in the area but not for the price.

First time playing at San Carlos was good experience and will definitely play there again.
