Off Season Round
Please keep in mind that this was an off season round. August in Florida, very hot, very humid, and had been for weeks. Played early to try and minimize the heat. Hooked up with a couple of locals (I was down from New Jersey). We were the first ones out so Pace of play was not an issue. Started on ten because they were doing work on the front. Island pines is a flat course that meanders through ponds, palms and it's neighborhood. The twists and turns make the course somewhat interesting and provide it's defense. The greens on our front nine were very rough and choppy. Much better on the back. I guess that is what they were working on. Again, off Season, cooler weather and more attention to maintenance would make this a great course for a somewhat relaxing tune-up round, or for a beginner, or novice golfer.
The real pleasure came post-round when I spent some time in the clubhouse with some extremely nice employees, regulars and other visitors. Overall a great mid-summer getaway round.
Needs help
Fairways are pretty rough and greens are slow. Some of which might be because of recent aeration and extended dry weather. However, recent rains have left wet areas on the course. In fairness the course is very inexpensive.
Pretty good but…
The course is pretty good considering the limited traffic you see. The pace of play is great UNTIL staff decide on a whim drive on the course and tee off right after you. It really throws off your pace. If that wouldn’t happen, it’s a great place to practice your golf game - it’s nowhere near PGA quality as far as the course goes, but is one that we enjoy playing at.
Note: amenities are very dated, but that’s not what your there for.
Friendly staff, nur course was not in good conditions
Really friendly staff, course was not good, fairway in bad conditions, Greens Long=Slowly.
For 15 Dollar ok, More ist too much.
So so
The greens are very nice. Need lots of of grass. To bad because it is a nice lay out!
Beautiful course
Very playable. Homes around the course have character. Enjoyed a pleasant day on the course.
Course has been neglected
The greens were in the best condition but were very long and sooooo slow. The fairways had very little grass. The layout of course was acceptable but the condition ruined that. The people we met at counter and bag drop-off were very pleasant.
Nice layout, unfortunately, the conditions are poor. Etc, tees, fairways. Greens are not bad, but all the same size and shape.
Employees are friendly, but not familiar with the typical operation of a golf course, ie, tee times, pairing players, putting g groups together.
