Island Pines
Greens were in rough shape, many bare spots in the fairways and a bit overpriced. $45.00 after noon, should be around $39.00. Only $.4.00 less than morning rates and $16.00 more than the evening rates. we played the afternoon rates since there were many open tee times and very few after 2:00 PM which everyone seems to want to play due the discrepancy in the rates in relation to the conditions of the course
YEEHAW!
It is in tough condition. A huge Confederate flag would be suitable here. There is a VERY tall presidential flag off the ninth hole fairway. There are quite a few courses in the area at a similar price point with much better greens and much better conditions without the "Deliverance" vibe.
Christmas Day Golf
My wife and I played and I have to say the course was in good condition. Greens were shaggy but understandable considering skeleton staff on Christmas Day
My only complaint is that the bar/snack bar was very busy, so we were not able to get anything to eat or drink between 9’s
My suggestion would be 2 lines, one for patrons just drink g and another for people playing between 9’s
Otherwise good day had by all!
Fun Saturday
Make no mistake, this isn’t the nicest course you will ever play. That being said, it was a great day. The course layout was fun. There were some tough holes, lots of water, and the staff was great. It looks like they are working hard to get/keep the course in good shape. They are doing well. Played 18 in 3:30 minutes.
Great greens and clubhouse staff
This was my 2nd round here ... I played about 3 years ago. The course is near a friend's house; however, they do not play so getting out means not visiting with them...unless I start early.
Both times, I think the course maintenance needs improvement. However, the putting greens are in great shape with 2-3 degree slope from back to front, which makes me concentrate on both line and speed. The only short coming are the holes created by Sandhill Cranes ... nothing maintenance can do about that.
I like the layout. I saw improvements to tee boxes. So, I will continue to play the course and looking for improvements.
Trash
Need a lot of help golf cart died and had cuts and burns in the seat. Tee box was not good at all
Rough Conditions
Tee boxes and fairways are in terrible shape. But got right out and pace was great and staff is super nice.
Very friendly stuff
Greens are very slow and Fairways need improvement! Value for the money is still good.
Very friendly stuff, members and a great bar!
Worst Course Ever
This is the worst course I have played since 1994!! There is not one redeeming quality about it. The "driving range" has about 3 blades of grass TOTAL and you hit into and unmarked pond. There are virtually no hole signs or signage at all to tell you what direction to go and some holes have no signs at all. I wouldn't play here if I was paid to do it.
