Good fun course
First time on this course... the back nine is a challenge.. Staff is super friendly. My friends and I had a great time. Will come again. Also the food at the clubhouse was a great value!
Terrible greens
Course conditions , especially greens are horrible. I can't remember playing worse greens. With some care, it could be a decent track, but it looks like the owners don't care about course conditions
Nice course and nice staff
The course is well maintained and the greens were in nice condition. While the greens are smaller; they are nicely sloped and challenging. Anyone can hit a huge green - this is a little trickier which is good.
There is lots of water on the right, also on the left at times and sometimes behind the greens. Some nice ponds with ducks, swans, turtles, egrets, fish and other wildlife which I enjoy. I played after we had some rain and the course seems to drain very well too.
They have practice putting greens and a chipping area with a sand trap. There is a restaurant, bar, pro shop and a covered patio in the back outside with tables and chairs. You can eat inside or outside. Island Pines require you to wear a golf shirt with a collar plus shoes which I like.. The local muni I sometimes play often has guys out there with tank tops and flip flops which is a joke.
The course has a nice mix of holes including a few 500 + yard par 5's, lots of par 4s and some very nice and challenging par 3's. The pace of play is fast and steady which I like. Island Pines is an undiscovered gem. I look forward to playing there again. Golf Now lists me as age 65+ which is wrong. Try 60 and I can still hit it long.
It is what it is
It’s not a bad course in a pinch, it’s challenging and fun just not your normal county course conditions!
This golf course is old but kept up very well. It's not my favorite type of grass to play off of but they try very hard to keep this course maintained. I think the course plays just under 6,000 yards and has sum challenging holes. I would recommend if your looking for a new challenge
Great golf
Nice course well cared for pretty forgiving fairways on some holes and nice staff
Course is nice for an easy day out. Didn’t enjoy one of the very rude workers, we had the door slammed in our face. I play the course often and hear new rules from this one employee every time. All others have been friendly and I will go back but not on the days of said rude employee.
Good value . Forgiving course
Very forgiving course so it was a pleasant day. Good mix of par 3s and 5s. Greens are small but in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes need some work, but they should improve after the rainy season. Loving have your own cart. Speeds play considerably. Will definitely play again.
Good layout
First time playing here. Decent course with several challenging holes.. Could use some work on the tee boxes.
Very forgiving, relaxed round of golf
This is a decent course at a reasonable price. The greens are pretty small but in good condition with true rolls. The tee boxes and fairways need some work but should be better after the rainy season. I played with three great guys I met for the first time Chuck, Mark and Bob. Overall a pleasant day.
Great bird wildlife everywhere
We played teeing off at 1054 on a wonderful day with a slight Breeze.
We hadn't played here since before Xmas and were very impressed with the condition of the greens which were in great condition. Fairways were a bit sparse in places mainly due to the long dry spell but nothing too bad to play off. By the time we finished the wind had picked up considerably and made some of the holes quite testing. A fairly short but tight course with many differing holes with quite a lot of water.
Great Staff
From check in to finish, the staff was friendly, helpful, outgoing and very understanding of everyone’s needs for a safe round.
