Decent Course
I am a beginner golfer. The course was good, challeging at times. I lost plenty of balls in the water. The greens were somewhat dry which made them inconsistent when putting. Other than that, the golf course was good. I may wait to come back to it so I don't have to buy more balls.
Nice course
Not a high end place. Certainly worth the value offered ny golfnow.
Good value
Good layout in very rundown condition winding through a pleasant neighborhood
A good “breather” course.
Although it is low priced, with a maintenance budget to match, I would make the greens a priority by rolling and cutting them closer. Most of them have plenty of grass on them.
Excellent Value
Excelkent value for your money. Woukd definitely return. Fairways straight few hazards. Fans attached to golf carts creating a nice breeze on the humidity day. Welcoming frirndly staff
Go play it
Very friendly staff an sum carts have FANS in them , only course I've seen have them. Why not try it if you have the chance. Its not a great course but the greens roll pretty good an sum holes are pretty challenging (from the blue tee at least).
Good fun course
First time on this course... the back nine is a challenge.. Staff is super friendly. My friends and I had a great time. Will come again. Also the food at the clubhouse was a great value!
Terrible greens
Course conditions , especially greens are horrible. I can't remember playing worse greens. With some care, it could be a decent track, but it looks like the owners don't care about course conditions
Nice course and nice staff
The course is well maintained and the greens were in nice condition. While the greens are smaller; they are nicely sloped and challenging. Anyone can hit a huge green - this is a little trickier which is good.
There is lots of water on the right, also on the left at times and sometimes behind the greens. Some nice ponds with ducks, swans, turtles, egrets, fish and other wildlife which I enjoy. I played after we had some rain and the course seems to drain very well too.
They have practice putting greens and a chipping area with a sand trap. There is a restaurant, bar, pro shop and a covered patio in the back outside with tables and chairs. You can eat inside or outside. Island Pines require you to wear a golf shirt with a collar plus shoes which I like.. The local muni I sometimes play often has guys out there with tank tops and flip flops which is a joke.
The course has a nice mix of holes including a few 500 + yard par 5's, lots of par 4s and some very nice and challenging par 3's. The pace of play is fast and steady which I like. Island Pines is an undiscovered gem. I look forward to playing there again. Golf Now lists me as age 65+ which is wrong. Try 60 and I can still hit it long.
It is what it is
It’s not a bad course in a pinch, it’s challenging and fun just not your normal county course conditions!
This golf course is old but kept up very well. It's not my favorite type of grass to play off of but they try very hard to keep this course maintained. I think the course plays just under 6,000 yards and has sum challenging holes. I would recommend if your looking for a new challenge
