Great round
We had a really good day at Fairwinds.
The play was fairly fast and not too windy.
Course in great condition, greens very fasy and true.
Our cart ran out of battery on the 17th and the club were quick to respond with a replacement!
Literally Belligerent and Threatening "Club Pro" - 10/17/23 1pm
Would have been a 5 Star rating across the board if it wasn't for the self-proclaimed "Club Pro" who was out on the course giving a lesson on the Front Nine to an older gentleman who was in his cart, who was also embarrassed by the "Pro's" demeanor and behavior. Not sure if he actually works for Fairwinds or not. If he is, cut him loose. He's a liability. Apparently he woke up on the wrong side of his rock this morning.
The rest of Fairwind's staff from the Pro Shop to the Cart Attendant to the Starter were Aces on my scorecard. (Sorry of the 1 star there, but necessary)
I've been playing this GAME for 40+ years and I ALWAYS respect the course, understand golf etiquette and conduct myself accordingly at ALL TIMES.
The course was completely dry with no casual water, damp areas or other areas of concern in sight. As requested by the starter, we honored the 90 degree rule regardless, Unfortunately, on one Par 3 I did drive on the fairway but was respecting the 90 Degree rule. My Bad. Acknowledged.
However, the "Pro" who was playing behind us literally yelled at the top of his lungs, proudly announced that he was the "Club Pro" and continued a tirade that a child would be ashamed of. He chose the low road, instead of driving his cart forward 75 yards towards us, kindly asking us to stay off all Par 3 fairways, and not embarrassing his student during the episode. A course ranger could give him a lesson on customer service and being a true ambassador for the game of golf, Fairwinds Golf Course and some self control.
That's how you treat people in general and I respectfully let him know that. I don't care who you think you are. Too much hatred in this person to be in his position.
Aeration and flooding
The course was aerated and greens ran well
Surprised it was open but quite playable
Had a great time and when we checked in
They gave us $25 chip for next round
Great layout
Playing on punched greens
It would be nice if all courses would let players know the greens are punched or verticut. Putting on basketball courts is just no fun. Prices should be discounted when greens are under heavy maintenance.
Good condition
The fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. The greens were excellent and rolled true. The sand traps were firm and a little difficult to handle. All in all , a great course.
5 hour round !
Need a ranger to stop players from hitting 2-3 drives per hole

The course couldn't have been in better condition.
Lack of a ranger
We came out as a twosome, with a 9 AM tee time. Got paired with two 80 year-old women that refused to speed up. One insisted on taking three practice swings on every shot and they wouldn’t let us concede them puts etc. my buddy and I ended up picking up 4 foot puts getting off the green waiting for them to get done doing everything in our power to get them to speed up it was miserable. A ranger would have helped immensely to tell them to pick it up. The course is great, we will be back… as a foursome.
