Fairwinds Golf Course

Fairwinds seems to get quite a bit of play. The course is really starting to get beat up and dried out. That said, the greens were okay. I don’t think the value is there, but people are paying and playing, so I guess I’m off base. I’ll try it again when we retain the fall.

Pace of play was our biggest frustration, the foursome ahead were 1 to 11/2 hole behind pace, we seen the Marshall twice but no corrective measures were taken

Course was in great condition. Greens were well maintained, firm and fast. Fairways were super, with nice grass, not sparse like a lot of courses around here.

I played with my husband and another couple. Great 4some even though we didn’t know the other couple. The 4 people in front of us were extremely slow. 3 women one male. They Could have cared less of keeping the pace. On the 17th hole, some young boys cut in front of the 4 slow group and made us backed up for 25 minutes on the 17th hole. Not to mentioned the kids that were fishing on the pond at the 18th hole. They shouldn’t have been out fishing while golfers were still playing. It was only 5:30. My question is where was the ranger to help out? There’s plenty of starters taking your bag for a tip but not when you need them on the fairways.
