Great Fall Golf
Course is in great condition. Greens roll true and are in great shape. Fairways overseeded so no dormant bermuda grass to lessen the experience. Would definitely play again
Great hackers course
Excellent course for the hacker. Wide open fairways and great mini-verde greens that roll as true as you'll find in the area. Always fun playing this course as the pace of play is usually moving along pretty well.
Good layout
The best thing about this course was that the greens were rolling great. The rough was fairly thick in some places. Overall, I would recommend playing here mainly because of the greens.
Excellent and fun course
Continuing my review. I accidentally hit the enter button. The clubhouse is modern, clean, spacious and the bathrooms the kind you will in a Hyatt Hotel, not some concrete bunker referred to by a previous reviewer. True there is no kitchen for made to order food but there are sandwiches, drinks, and snacks.
Now to the staff and course: The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Despite the summer heat (daily 95 deg plus) with little or no rain, the course is not burned out like so many here are. The fairways are generous, firm but soft, green not brown. The greens are good and recently aerated, running about average speed. The range is big, the carts are good.
The views on the course are very nice. There are a few water features and gentle elevation changes. Tee box graphics and yardages are nice. Water is available every 3rd hole.
In summary, I am very happy I visited and look forward to taking our association there for our outing in August.
Goose Pond Plantation GC
Course was in very good conditions, with fast green. The course is a shot making course with some small targets, blind shots and hazards positioned appropriately. I would recommend this course and its sister course the Goose Pond Lake course over any in the area.
Average layout, but well maintained
First Impressions:
This is definitely a low key golf course. For a pair of courses that are affiliated with an event destination and a $40-$50 retail price, I was expecting a clubhouse, but there wasn't one, just one of the generic concrete bunkers selling a few select brands of clubs and balls, and a sandwich if you're lucky. One thing to note, too, is that the address of the Plantation Course is about 8 miles from the Lake Course, which the literature doesn't mention.
The Good Side:
Despite its humble first impression, this course is actually quite well maintained. When I played in early July the fairway was lush, and the greens were in great shape. Despite playing on the 4th of July holiday AND a Saturday, there were not many people on the course, and I didn't have to wait. I was quite happy with my round. I'm not sure I would have paid the $40 sticker price, but the Golf Now special at $15 was one of the best deals I've ever had at a course!
A joyful day at Goose Pond Plantation
Those looking for golf in a peaceful and quiet setting, this course offers golf in a big valley surrounded by mountains. Usually a mild breeze, and new Bermuda greens. This course is only 61 miles from Gadsden Ala.
