Surprised in a good way
Didn’t expect much but I stumbled a cross a hidden gem in the Detroit area as I was in town for just the day. Very solidly good golf course everything the way it should be
Hidden gem
First time playing here and WOW! Course is in amazing shape. Greens and fairways are immaculate. Can’t wait to play here again
Good course to play
This is a good course that is well maintained and has a great staff. All your clubs will be tested, some holes require a perfect shot while others are more forgiving. The value is great, staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes some of the holes can get backed up as some players are going for the green. Holes 6 through 9 are always backed up during busy season. Great place to play.
This course is absolute quality. Conditions were magnificent.
This is one of the nicest golf courses I have played in the Detro-Metro area. I have played majority of the public golf courses within 30 miles of Detroit and this is by far the best. Fairways were excellent, tee boxes were maintained, and greens rolled very true. If you haven’t played at Links at Gateway, please do yourself a favor and play this course. For the price, even on the weekends, it is very fair and you will not be disappointed.
Very well manicured!!
First time playing course. Was extremely pleased with the conditions. The fairways are immaculate, same with the tee boxes! The course is challenging from the tips! Only issue was pace of play took us 3 hours to play the front nine! One other issue was range ball machine only gave us one ball the first coin so that was a little hassle having to go back to clubhouse to fix.
Metro Detroit’s Best Kept Secret
This is one of my favorite courses in the metro Detroit areas. The course is long, fairways and greens are great, and the course is always in great shape
Pleasant Surprise
This was a very nice course. Nice rangers, good fairways and greens. Wasn't expecting a nice course like this out in Inkster. Glad I played, I'll be back.
Meh. Okay.
Was bothered 3 times about pace of play even though our full group had to wait at each tee box to tee off and we finished 18 in 4 hours. Rushed at the turn trying to get food as well. Probably won't be back. Course was at least in okay condition.
Great track
Tees to greens, the course was in great shape. 2 glaring concerns; greens were aerated and the bunkers looked like they had been raked in weeks. I understand the aeration needs to be done, but there is really no reason why the bunkers were not maintained/raked.
Waste of money
Pace of play was painful., 5 hour round, not a ranger on the course. Greens airated and in terrible shape. Just reminded me why I only play there once a year. NOT worth the money or time.
I apologize you did not enjoy your round of golf at Links at Gateway. I did take a look back at the day and yes the round was slow. But that was due to cart path only that day and the course being wet. Through out the week we cater to a lot of senior play and cart path only will slow the pace of play down. As far as not seeing a ranger we monitor of pace of play from the club house. Every cart is GPS for speed of play. During cart path only we do not push our customers to hard because we know it is difficult for some people during this time.
As far as the condition of the greens. The greens here at Links at Gateway are bent grass. Which means in the spring if we don't have above 50 degree night time temps the grass does not grow. Since you played the greens are in better shape due to the warm weather. We believe this course is definitely worth the time and money.
