Mack Mayfield Municipal Golf Course

If you are starting off golf, then this is a good course to get the feel of actually playing golf and learning your short game

My wife and I love golfing this course. It provides both Long and Short game challenges, all while being a little forgiving. I love that the golf lanes dont overlap or run so close to one another that you are not crossing over to others games. I also love the price. No one there is in a rush, and playing 9 holes is perfect to have the rest of your day open.

First off, we walk in the door and the man at the counter didnt say anything during the check in process; no hello, no welcome, no thank you, nothing.

Second, its 1pm and the grounds team is in full swing, sprinklers going off all over the place; spraying onto tee boxes, groundskeepers driving carts and mowers across the fairway or pulling up behind us during shots.

We pull up towards the green to make a short approach shot, multiple sprinklers in the way of travel and shooting onto the green. There is a grounds keeper sitting there in a cart, we ask if the sprinkler will be taken out and would just wait a moment. He responded rudely with nothing but a "it wont effect your shot". Not a "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything.

We proceeded to play on soaked greens (that are horribly kept) and dealt with grounds keepers interrupting play throughout the whole round.

This is by far one of the worst experiences that I have ever had on a golf course.

Good old (formerly) Westland Municipal - 9 holes - no par 5’s…

I haven’t been here in a long while -they lost lots of trees on the West side of the course - Greens in good shape - great price on golf now

Had a great time. Went when rain was expected and had the course to myself. Decided to use it as a practice round and the staff was super friendly and didnt push me along. The price was super cheap for (golfpass rate).

I have golfed here a few years back and recall a solid experience as a brand new golfer.

If you’re just learning the game, or want to get in a quick 9 relatively inexpensive, I’d recommend this course.

Avg city course, nothing great nor nothing bad. Fairways are tight and greens are . Good beginners course
