Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center

Let me start by saying that this layout is one of the most unique within an hour of Detroit. Water is in play on almost every hole. In the past, we've enjoyed their beautiful amenities, and the staff outstanding. Yesterday, we were not informed that the fairways were going to be aerated while we were playing, nor were we told that the restaurant was closed. That would have made us go elsewhere. But the biggest complaint is how rude the guy on the aerating tractor was. On three separate holes he disregarded us while we were playing, and at one point parked within shot range and got out to use his cell phone. We yelled "four" numerous times to get him to move, but he never acknowledged us and kept talking. Do better. SLGC.

Over priced for the fall season especially after they aerated the greens. They left gritty clumps of dirt all over their greens. If you’re going to charge $80 dollars, without telling people you aerated the greens at-least clean them up a bit. I love this course when it’s mid summer but this course isn’t work the price this time of year. Dude at the front desk wasn’t welcoming either. I walked up to the counter and stood for a second before I said hello.

The course was very challenging and demanded most of your golf skills to shoot a decent score. However, in the end, it was worth the experience.

Was able to get the first tee time of the morning and go out as a single which is rare in the golf industry. However I noticed that the course was setting up for not one but two outings. I figured I could make the turn before the outing started and boy was I wrong! So I paid $76 for only 9 holes because when I made the turn there was a foursome group on the #10 green, a foursome group waiting on the #11 tee box, and a foursome group that had just teed off on #11. So needless to say I was not impressed with the course allowing people to book a tee time before an outing started and not be able to finish what I paid for. So buyer beware, check ahead of time before booking your tee time otherwise you just might get burned.

Course has a good layout but would be better if they cut the reeds down around the water ( understand that is not quick or easy to do) as I had a lot of blind shots to the green couldn’t see the green or the fairway, and pace of play was slow but it was a Saturday late morning tee off so that is to be expected.

Always a pleasure to challenge . Weeds were a little bit too high.

Waited every shot. Goose poop literally everywhere. Fairways full of divots. Geofencing alerts while on the cart path. Bunkers unplayable full of golf ball size rocks. Left after 9.

This course is situated in a perfect area with lots of water. The course was a bit beat up/neglected. In my opinion the golfers are placed too close together causes long wait times at every hole…. This was the longest round of golf I have ever played (5 hours). It’s hard to get into a rhythm when you have to wait at every single hole for one or two groups in front of you…. Frustrating.

I love the layout of this course. It’s a unique challenge that requires good shot planning. Course was in pretty nice shape, especially on and around the green. I can’t wait until I can come back!

This is a beautiful course. Challenging for sure. Well maintained for the most part. Bunkers need some serious attention. That aside, I would recommend this course to anyone.

My husband and I escape each Canadian Thanksgiving weekend for a weekend of golf and Solitude is a must stop at each year! The course is always in great shape - the staff are friendly and it offers both friendly and challenging shots. Highly recommend!

Got out after an outing …. No ranger to force pace of play seemed to have some slower groups ahead of me. A lot of waiting on tee boxes… paired myself up with another single on the back 9 to slow me down
