Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center
        About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

difficult but fair
I liked the course. First nine was too much for me from blue tee. You need to be 240 yds off tee to feel confortable.
Difficult if you play from Blue tee specially front nine. Need to be straight and more than 240yds off the tee
Golf in excellent shape and I really enjoyed it. Played front nine from Blue tee and I was not long enough with my 210 yds shot! I made a good choice in selecting this course. No showers available at clubhouse only negative for me.
Got your money. Sorry about your lucj
Made sure we paid. Then proceeded to let us know the back was going to be slow due to leagues going out right before we made the turn. What they decided to not say, slow is a understatement. 4 groups on 1 hole. Joke. Least they got their money.
Best golf course of the year
There are about 10 golf courses I have played this year, and this is the best course among them.
In particular, I still vividly remember the old and very kind staff I met at hole 1. Fairway management is the best, green management is also the best.
Everything was in excellent condition. We look forward to your next visit with good memories.
Good Challenge
Can be tough, but if you use smart golf tactics ( lay up, get to front of green, a couple long irons better than lost drive around water, etc) it’s fun challenging course.
Busy Course
This course has a fun and interesting layout with lots of water carries. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have a new fleet of GPS equipped carts. They have an easy online booking portal. This course is heavily used and it shows. The fairways are heavily trafficked. The bunkers have shallow sand containing lots of small stones and are not really playable. That being said, it was fun to play but I don't think I'll return. It was a 5 hour round which is to be expected on a perfect late spring Sunday.
Great course great condition. Had a great time. Thank you.
To much waiting
Thus course send out to many groups right on top each other. They should wait till the group is on the green before letting the next group tee off. Had 3 foursomes on every hole so you are sitting more then you are playing. Happens every time I'm here
Waste of money and time
It's really sad when they are pushing groups off the first right on top of each other. Starter should wait till the group is on the first green, before sending the next group. Played with at least 3 group on every hole. Greens were in very bad shape and so were the bunkers, not even raked. There were no rakes on the course for any traps. Sad when they just want to make money and not letting the golfers enjoy their round. Will never come back.
Slow from the start
When we arrived for our 10:54 tee off we were told to see the starter regarding giving way to groups coming off the 18th hole from an ongoing high school tournament. There were 2 high school groupings that played through the 1st hole while we waited past our scheduled tee off. We finally got the nod to start 50 minutes past our sceduled tee time. When we got out on the course it was dead slow. We were 3 hrs getting through the 1st 9 holes and then 2.5 hrs on the 2nd 9 holes. Most of the time i book through Golf Now they are on time. This round was unexeptable and not up to the GN standards. Compensation would be appreciated. Thankyou.

Michael, we are sorry you had a unpleasant experience. I just want to point a few things out to explain.
1) We probably should not have let you golf at all on this day knowing we are cart path only and play was going to be slow. But we generally don't like to say no to any of our guests.
2) We had 3" of rain on Tuesday and the course was wet and cart path only. As you are a stated advance player, you realize it takes longer to play with cart path only. Most other courses were closed on this day and we are fortunate our course drains fast.
3) You were told it was going to be slow and I applaud my staff for making you aware. You still decided to play golf after the warning.
4) 4 carts on one hole was probably when they teed off for their league. Not uncommon for them to stack up to start play.
Once again, we apologize for you unpleasant experience and hope you come back on a better day when carts are allowed off the fairways. Thanks for the one star review.
