Water
Rude guy working told us only the back nine was available to play. Back nine had multiple holes with large areas of standing water. Was too late to switch courses and get 18 in before everyone had to get to work. Need better communication between golf now and the courses. Also, need a better way of letting players know about things like this. Earlier this summer we had two courses closed in the same day, meanwhile both courses had tee times available on golf now
Solid course
Great course and staff. Pace of play was great and didn't get the impression they were overbooked at all which is hard to find these days. Cart girl came around frenquently so it was very convenient unlike other courses I've been to. They also supply a cooler with your drinks vs giving you the usual bag of ice. A few of the tees were a extreme with divits but were filled with sand/seed repair.
Hot day
What a beautiful course, I would love to come back and play it again. Just wish there was a bev cart out or someone could of told us that there wasn’t going to be anyone out today. Grab what we need in Pro Shop or Bar area. There was no starter or Ranger due to leagues the guy said in Pro Shop normal courses have a starter just to get you off. They said you pay for damages if you damage a cart so what happens if you don’t know what golfers have which cart when they aren’t assign nor starter doesn’t have the numbers either. I would come back to golf here but there are a few things they need to have out there to accommodate golfers especially when it is warm.
Great Course Getting Better
Rattle Run continues to improve the course conditions year over year. a great mix of straight forward and demanding holes.
Awesome course
Best course in Macomb county, improving all the time, every hole is different and challenging. Great good options.
Great course, but felt rushed through the back nine as a bunch of groups showed up around the same time and decided started off or only play the back nine??? It was 1230 when we arrived at the back 9 and on a week day. Not sure if they over book or just a bunch of new groups of golfers just showed up to play the back 9, but was rushed through the back 9, didn't enjoy it and ruined the experience. Maybe better luck next time?!
Great shape! Great layout! Great course!
Since the new owners took over a couple years ago the course has continually became better year after year. They put a lot of time effort and money into making this course great again. Greens roll true, grass is in Fantastic shape and the layout is second to none in the area, pace of play was great as well, plenty of food options in the clubhouse. Grass driving range also in great shape. The newer electric carts are a huge upgrade from the old gas powered ones. The only negatives I would say is the sand traps could use some work, which they have started doing. Also the short game area is lacking but they do have a chipping area and large putting green.
This is a players course, it will challenge your game. Make sure you play the correct tee boxes.
Not a house on the course it’s wooded with trees and some water, water definitely not overwhelming but it does come into play on certain holes, it’s not a back and fourth muni course either the course plays around a large wooded area with as much elevation changes as you can find anywhere in Macomb county.
I would recommend this course to anyone on the east side and anywhere in Detroit it’s worth the drive, bring your A game this isn’t St. Clair Shores country club.
