Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center
About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

Good challenge & great value
Course was in generally in great shape, especially the greens. Bunkers had not been groomed and were wet and hard after a recent rain. GPS on carts was great.
Solitude on The Links
Great challenging course for the money. The lakes are beautiful and fit with the course nicely. Easy to find and good service
Excellent
Pace was a little slow but the course is beautiful for lower southeast mi! Staff was very friendly, course offers some challenging water holes and others that are a bit easier but a great view all around!
NEW NAME
Fairways and greens were great for this time of year. I really like the GPS in the carts.
No starter is a major concern
I will give the new owner/management the benefit of doubt being so early in the season, however there was no starter and everyone was just teeing off one after another and sure enough it was backed up all day!
This is one of my favorite courses and i will be back but if they are going to run this like any hack course i will not make the 45 minute drive to play.
amazing
We spent th e weekend camping and ended with 18 holes on sunday, one of the best courses i've played this year
Lovely fall day
For being fall the course was very well managed (leaves hardly) and the trees surrounding the course made it very photogenic. Greens, fairways were up to par.
Excellent Conditons/Too Slow!!
*great day for golf as the weather was in the early 70's and partly cloudy
*course was in excellent shape and greens were fast
*price is was fantastic $20 US with a cart
*too slow due to many people as round of golf was 5 hours
Slow Pace of Play
The Ranger did not do his job and seemed more interested in being a nice guy. We complained when we had to wait for 30 minutes at one hole.
Good Choice!
Excellent Price on Golf Now made it a very good value. the course is in real nice shape. 3 or 4 quirky design holes that require local knowledge, but overall a very good experience.
Nice course - lotsa water...
We have been a couple of times. Not a course for beginners as the water on many holes provides challenges.
Almost walked off twice
Have been trying to play this course for 3 yrs after hearing it recommended so often. As you go along the course, it is easy to see that a lot of money and care has been put into Fore Lakes. Unfortunately, I ended up with way to much time to look around, as times between green to tee-off often approached 6-8 mins. At the turn, I had enough time to eat a hot dog, a bag of chips, drink a beer, go back and use the washroom and grab another beer. If that is the way a weekday round plays, I would hate to see it on a Saturday or Sunday. What a waste.
Good course and Good Value
Slow play due to morning fog backing up tee times but course is in good shape and is good value for the $
Nice Course but wouldnt Pat Full Price
Played this course as a twosome with my wife, Seemed very slow play until we realized that we did play 18 in under 4 hours, Never saw a ranger or starter, We tee'd off a 4pm, Beer cart girlwas non-existant, intead of starting on 18 and working backwards she started at # 1 so in 18 holes we only saw her once, Very nice course, not as hard as we imagined which was pleasant, would recommemd everyone play this course but iwould lok for deals and not pay the high green fees,
nice course
Challenging, lots of water, fun course, just slow play would be only complant, over 5 hours for 18 holes
nice course, lots of water
nice course, in great condition, a little challenging, especially that first hole.
Excellent value
Great value for golf. Very accommodating to me as we were late due to car problems. Thank you
Fore Lakes
I play this course multiple times every summer and it never fails to disappoint! They have five sets of tees for every level of golfer and the course is currently in great shape. They had minimal damage from the winter with only one green being damaged and its damage is very slight. New owners spent a lot of money making the experience good including new carts and more recently a set of tablets for some of the carts which act as a GPS! The only problem I have is the inconvenience of the driving range which is off the 4th hole tee box. The range balls also feel like rocks. Other than that you can't go wrong with Fore Lakes!
Great Course
Love this course. Clubhouse is beautiful. My husband and I look forward to playing Fore Lakes many more times.
Great service and friendly staff
Staff met us in parking lot..loaded our clubs on the carts and supplied water for each palyer
