Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center
About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

Fore Lakes - Great Deal
Got a great hot deal ($10) to play a good course. Was able to soot around in just over 3 hours, not too many people out due to the threat of rain. Overall, good course for a great price.
Good until the league started
My son and I played the first 9 in just over 1 hour. Had we known a league was going to play the back nine we would have asked to play it first. Got caught in the rain the last 2 holes because the league players were not very good and crawled a a snails pace. Next time I ask is leagues are going to be playing or not.
Intimidating Beauty
Nothing gets you ready for 18 holes quite like the #1 tee box at Fore Lakes. Either you play the clubs in your bag or you play every ball in your bag.
Awesome
From the time we walked in the pro shop and were greated by Pierre to the starter on the 1st tee everyone who worked there was extremely friendly!!! The course was in very good shape! The course can be challenging but it also very fair. You are not penalized for good shots!! Will definitely play this course again!!!!
Fun fn fun
Enjoyable course but bring some extra balls, lots of water. Slow at the turn as groups fill up on some great hotdogs. Lots of variety in holes.
Fore Lakes
The locals call it Four Sleeves. The course is challenging and well maintained. I always have a nice time here. Weekend dinners are great!
Great place to play
Water everywhere makes for a challenging day, nice clubhouse, course in good shape besides a few greens littered with ball marks
beautiful!
the best in my area, it's tough, well taken care of. and a fun course.recommend this course highly.
Excellent veiw from every hole.
After you play here once, you'll be coming back time & time again
Great course and great value.
The course was very enjoyable and challenging and the staff was very friendly.
water,water everywhere!!!
My only negative comment about this course isthe inconsiderate golfers who neglect to repair their ball marks on the green!! Otherwise the course is in great shape.
challenging course, water makes degree of difficulty more exciting.
play was a little too slow, need to warn slow groups to speed it up..
nice shape- interesting layout
Course has interesting layout with lots of water but not too difficult. With new ownership, it is in better shape than the last couple of years. The bunkers and a few of the greens still need some more work but generally good - and the fairways are in very nice shape. Was the arguably the best course in St Clair county at one time and is starting to get back to that.
nice layout
it was the longest round that I have ever played at fore lakes which made it very difficult to get into a good tempo for playing.
Great play some challenges and some easy holes.
Nice course lots of water in play I was very surprised by how nice it was kept. Par 3's are ridiculous though they have 4 of them that are over 180 yards
Great public course
Fore Lakes is a beautiful course to play. It gets a lot of play because of the value, but is always maintained well. It was a great way to spend a Saturday evening.
We weren't treated very nice!
My friends and I played Fore Lakes Golf Club near Port Huron on July 11th. To start with the course is pretty but it was kind of ruined right off the start. We had a deal to get free range balls and the woman behind the counter was not very nice to us and was trying to not give us our range balls. Then, when we went to tee off at the first tee the starter asked where we were from and when we told him where we were from he put down our city and asked if it was still there which irritated us before we even teed off! He also tried to get us to play from the white tees since we are over 50 but we normally play from the black tees on harder courses than Fore Lakes. (I think my tee shots of mine & my friends about 280 down the middle shut him up!) I also paid $2.50 more for a burger than my friend did and the service there wasn't good either. They need someone else running the course that treats the golfers better. - The course was pretty but a lot of the traps had gravel in them. We will probably never play there again because of the way we were treated and they had never even seen us as yet.
Great for the average golfer
well layed out with challenges with water on many holes. Very fair if you hit straigh.
It is chalenging with water and trees but most of them par 4s, and fun to play
I wish someone would have told us that leagues will start front 9 and seperate ladies league back nine. When we made turn we were behind the league and the fun was gone due to wait!
