Golfer Reviews
Great Day
Love this course. The views are wonderful. Trees and hills and ponds make this course one of my favorites outside the villages. It can be challenging especially because you don’t find many golf courses in the area that have the size hills and tree lined fairways that Water Oaks has.
Certainly enjoyed playing golf there.
Hidden Gem
Tucked away in a small community in Lady Lake is Water Oak Golf Course.
The staff is incredibly friendly.
The course layout is what I would consider pretty challenging. A ton of up hill and down hill drives with a decent amount of water. I loved the layout. Very unique in my opinion for a Florida course.
The course condition was surprisingly dry considering all the recent rain storms. But, a decent amount of dirt spots in the fairways. I often found myself rolling my ball out of dirt back on to some grass.
The greens were pretty slow, took me a while to get used to, often leaving putts short. But they were in very good condition.
The bunkers were pretty shallow. Recommend taking a few shots by the chipping green to get an idea of how to play out of them.
All in all, I would call this course a ton of fun to play with a really friendly staff at a very reasonable price. Checks a lot of boxes for me and I will continue to come back as often as I can.
P.S. One tip: When you see the yardage between blue and white, you'll most likely want to play the blue. Do yourself a favor, at least for the first time, and start on the whites. You'll be thankful especially when it comes to the Par 3's.
Have always enjoyed playing this course
One of the best values in the area as far as I’m concerned. Greens were in great shape. I’m sure my buddies and I will be back soon.
Course in good shape
Course is in good shape. Greens are on the slow side so make sure you putt to the hole or you're going to leave it short. Got paired up with some people from Indiana and had a good time.
Nice day with my friends
The golf course had a little bit of challenges for everyone. Some tight fairways to elevated small greens and a lot of up and down. The fairways were in good shape and the green were very healthy but needed to be cut. Overall, I would like to go back and try it again.
Nice course
Greens are almost perfect. Tee boxes are in good shape, fairways are nice. I like playing here later in the day there’s less people.
But course is nice very enjoyable.
