Dry, playable but needs attention
Overall the course was dry but green and tee boxes and fairways were playable. Rough and cart paths need work.
Great Conditions
Course is in as good of condition as I can ever remember. The only negative is they allow fivesomes and sixsomes. And on a Saturday morning they really bog down the golf course. Otherwise it’s terrific and a real bargain.
Great Course and Great Atmosphere
Loved this course. This was the first course I’ve played in FL with a bit of “elevation” and hills. It was a fun course with great obstacles but not too challenging for beginners like us. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We’re already planning to go back in a few weeks.
Great greens
Course was in great shape every time I have played wasn’t disappointed
Enjoyable
We were warmly welcomed by the Pro and were able to get out without delay. He gave us information about putting green and practice area and directions to the 1st tee.
The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Some of the tees and many areas in the rough lacked good grass cover. The course layout has enough doglegs to keep things interesting. On some of the tees it was hard to determine where optimum landing areas would be, so we had to drive the cart forward to get a good look. We found the back 9 more difficult than the front 9. Course signs would be very helpful, particularly on the back 9 where directions from green to next tee are needed.
First Time
This was the first time to play this course. It was very good to play. It challenged your directional skills on a few holes. Quite enjoyable and I plan to play again.
Storm Damage
The only reason for less than perfect score on this review is because of the recent storm damage. The club employees and working hard to complete. This is a great place to play.
The country club of Lake city was an absolute gem. We we’re headed to Georgia to visit and wanted to ply on the way there. I found this course close to I 75 and I will tell you was not disappointed. Tee to green was great , thank you for the hospitality. The course layout was great . Thanks
